Still fuming about the result: Liverpool for the first 40mins looked as though they were going to write the headlines, unfortunately the c*unt Halsey didn't appreciate the redmen stealing his thunder and decided to write his own headlines.

I can't fault Rodgers for that performance or for that shocking result. It was out of his hands. The lads bossed and dominated Salford FC easily - in fact our opposition looked like a shower of s.hit, so Halsey altered that with some affirmative action to make the game more equitable for Salford.

I don't mind this formation he uses except I always have that nagging doubt we look like conceding more goals from open play. We look open and prone to a decent attack (not that Salford served up anything too meaningful yesterday - just a general observation). I really like Allen and think he's going to be a real asset to this team, he's a worker, passer, tackler and a player with good intelligence - I'm glad we stumped up the 15M for him, he's well worth it and I thought he had another very good game yesterday.

Kelly and Johnson were good yesterday, still think Johnson looks slightly uncomfortable at LB but I thought overall he did well. Shelvey IMO started the game quite sloppily given the ball away in the opening moments but started to grow a bit more as the game went on. The tackle he made was typical 'British blood and thunder' stuff and I would have been more disappointed in him had he pulled out of that challenge - a challenge you don't shirk in this fixture! Evans' challenge was worse, the only difference being Evans cried foul and lazed on the floor and Shelvey got straight back up, Halsey saw the reaction and complied to Fergie's wishes sending Jonjo off.

Even with 10 men for half the game, we looked more threatening and the introduction of Suso was a pleasant surprise, he looks a technically gifted player, a player I've personally never seen much of. Borini before hand worked hard but like others I think he should play through the middle more just to see if we can start getting some goals out of him.

All in all it was a dominant - brave performance from both our manager and players. I just hop we don't fall back into 'run of the meal syndrome' where by that performance is usually only left for the likes of Salford, Citeh and Chelsea and not Stoke, Reading and Norwich - that is my biggest concern, likewise with Agger's injury.

If any of you on this forum got a little bit of sense  we should have Rafa back asp. This rodgers BS ain't going to work. FFS wake up, we haven't even got a striker. Borini fooking useless. Conclusion. Experiment: FAILED

It's a bit early for that isn't it?

I doubt that Rafa would be able to get a lot more out of these players than Brendan can.

I can't see Rafa coming back because even if the owners wanted him to he wouldn't be given the kind of spending pot he would require to finish what he started in his first spell in charge.

If we dont get a win in the next three v norwich, stoke and reading, is that just "coincidence"? Or something else...

If there's anything to be learnt over the last few years is longetivity is vital - with that comes patience. Rodgers hasn't had a lot and it already appears he's working with restraints. I for one really like Rodgers, the way he speaks, his etiquette and his plans. I honestly believe that given enough time he can put us back where we belong. Chopping and changing constantly will get us nowhere. 2 seasons at least he gets from we. We expect them to show us loyalty yet we'll chop them when times are bad - bollox to that, we're Liverpool FC, we're better than that. Walk on

I liked the way we played. If we can somehow play like again and again in remaining fixtures, we will move up the ladder and the first 3 home fixtures have not been kind to us  but we do not have a proven goal scorer and this will continue to haunt us for the whole season. Why the heck did Brendan let Carroll leave without a replacement? He is now a 'nut case' according to his own definition.

I've said before and I'll say it again, FSG must GET OUT of our club, they have not much money to invest.

Question now is would any good striker want to come to Liverpool that can only boast about its history and struggling in the PL? The only solution I can see in our scoring problem is recall Carroll back in January or Yesil the 18 year old German nicknamed 'Gerd' will come out good.

I for one am excited about the future with Rodgers in charge. We are very unlucky not to have 6 points from our games against the Manchester teams.

I'm enjoying the freedom he feels to play youth. I wasn't expecting much out of this season anyway, and I think that after a season of plenty of chances to play we'll have a good number of youngsters who'll be ready to kick on next season. The transfer window debacle may just turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

At the same time I recognise that our future as a top club sits on a bit of a knife edge. We could get away with a mid-table finish this season, but we have to start knocking on the Champions League door at least next season if we are to keep top players at the club, otherwise I see us turning into a poor man's Arsenal - seeing players we've developed fulfill their promise at bigger clubs in England and elsewhere.

Ultimately that is down to the owners investing in top players when we can get them, but in the meantime, well done FSG for selecting Rodgers. Now support him!

Excited isnt the word i would use with 2 points and a 3 nil hiding from WBA to boot.

Yesterday shows what can be done but its not going to be an exciting ride at all. Its going to be a long hard slog at best. Freedom of playing youth? how about has no choice but to play youth!

Rodgers has never done anything of any note in his short time managing football teams, his best was getting swansea into the Prem via the play offs. In that respect he is more or less on the same level as the owl in terms of achievements. A far cry from a certain man that ended real and barcas regin, or an ex player manager that had done it all.

He is like our current team, young promising but inexperanced. FSG have rolled the dice and almoust hit the reset button. His best move was saying he alone would be in charge and not have a DOF over him. That takes guts and i take my hat off to him for that.

Im not passing any judgement on him being the right man until xmas. Then the league table will do it for me.

Freedom of playing youth? how about has no choice but to play youth!

He could quite easily chucked downing in for Sterling and Henderson or Sahin in instead of Suso.

We're definitely going in the right direction with Rodgers, he's not the problem, it's those 'owners' from Boston that are the problem.

Rodgers is doing ok. I don't think he is the main problem.

The problem was Kenny's wasted millions. He basically broke FSG's spine. They trusted him with all that money and he failed them. Now FSG have to try balance the books somehow,and that means less investment not onlyfor  this year but for a long time.

No manager can waste 100 million pounds without rattling the economic foundation of the club and putting it at risk of economic mayhem.

FSG supported Kenny and paid the price. The club is now rock bottom in a relegation dogfight. Let's hope this situation won't last very long, but be afraid because there is not that much quality in this team - and if a couple of key players get injured - who knows what might happen.

So now after Ray, Kenny and Rodgers. Can anyone with hand on heart say that Benitez did not produce the goods? He was producing results and made us into a great team almost invincible at home, feared away and handsome in european competition.
