We have to be really desperate to recall him. I dont see that happening unless we cant get another striker.

All I'm saying is that if the Hammers have confirmed it, then it is a legitimate option come January and however much they paid us is irrelevant as they've agreed to a recall option. It's BR's shout anyway. I'd think we'll go for another striker but if we are unsuccessful then I personally would bring Carroll back.

I dont think Bren would lose face and get Carroll back. No matter what happens.

Exactly!

Look at how many crosses went into the box against Sunderland and tell me we wouldn't benefit from Carroll being back. Rodgers will value points over pride.

He has already stated that he would not have got rid of Carroll if he wasnt sure someone else was coming in, given that statement if he cant get anyone in January I think he will definately bring him back for the 2nd half of the season.
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

So true about the crosses the other day..yes it's a new way of playing that we are trying to implement but we are not there yet. Why not cross it in and get a few headed goals while we are transitioning? And tbh, even after we are playing a new style, I'll still value crosses even when we become the new Barca :-) Arsenal would have struggled against Carroll I am certain of that.

Will Carroll do that? He basically got told we didnt want him as soon as B-Rod took over as manager. We really dont need an uninterested Carroll just waiting to be sold.

Carroll was a noose around Liverpools neck, a grim reminder of the past regimes failure every time he
took to the field.

His signing was such an epic disaster on so many levels that Rodgers clearly decided to shift him on from the start
and save the stench of him hanging around impacting on his own work.

I get what he did with this, but despite the gamble at least Rodgers can now live or die amongst his own group and
the whole circus surrounding Carroll was clearly an error he didnt feel it was his job to manage.

Agreed. Swallow pride for the sake of points on the board.
For the record, I didn't agree with shipping him out to start with. Who knows - it might be the kick up the hole Carroll needs to show he's more than a beanpole target man....

As said he started playing a bit better towards the end of the season but he was certainly not MOM in the derby at anfield.

And how many crosses were we putting in last season and how many did Carroll miss becuase he was in the wrong position or he managed to head over the bar/ to the side or striaght at the keeper? Honestly people Carroll is a terrible striker and not the answer for us, you have to trust Brendan on this.
Borini will come good, I already like his movement and attitude and the goals will come but we need another striker in January, I'd go all out to try and sign Demba Ba.

Sorry disagree that Carroll is a terrible striker. We didn't utilise him effectively but when he is played to his strengths, the opposition know they are facing a beast. One of my favourite non Liverpool players is Dennis Bergkamp. He was a wonderful player but what did he do in Italy? f*ck all that's what. And that was because the system never suited him. Once the Whinger brought him into England and gave him more freedom he won player of the year. I could see Carroll going to another club and really coming good. Even for England, he looks a threat.
