it was a poor performance but it wasnt quite that bad mate! it wasnt bad enough to warrant a public apology.
losing the first game of the season (especially to west brom) has taken the wind out of all our sails but lets keep a bit of perspective.

Poor result and and even worse remarks in the post-match interview. I think we have yet again shot ourselves in the foot by not signing a top attacking player to help Suarez upfront. Signing Borini to play him down the flank is something I will never understand and I hope both BR and Borini prove me wrong.

Problem is we pay top dollar for grafters in the middle and not anything on creative ones.
We have noone in the middle who can create, make deft passes etc etc. Just alot of running around chasing the ball and play 2-3 yard passes sideways.

borini is 21 mate, granted he looked a bit lightweight and overawed by the speed and physicality of the prem but so did xabi in his debut away at bolton.
gerrard and downing are 2 experienced players who have spent their entire career`s playing in english football and they looked as ineffective as borini, it wasnt just borini who struggled today.

I'm still looking for our anchor this season ,typically it would be Gerrard but as time passes it seems our warrior has run out of energy. So who will it be? who would carry the team on his shoulders? I yet to see one.

I think the post match comments on more days like this were spot on tbh. Unless he is allowed to bring more quality into the squad then what can he expect to achieve?

basically we're skint and we'll have to sell to buy which sums up where we are at the moment. if we're going to get rid of carroll we need to get it done so we can replace him. leaving it till deadline day is of no use to us whatsoever.

but its out of our hands.  You cant just sell someone when you like.

A club has to make a suitable offer first.  I dont think BR will be able to sell any of the garbage!

Nobody wants these players.

west ham put in a £17m bid for carroll but he wants to stay and prove to the manager that he`s good enough to play for this club.
pity a few others dont show the same attitude as andy.

I really thought we were passed that sell before you buy *****. Makes you think if Torres was still here how bad would the rest of the team be.

This is it, but it also didn't help that Kenny and Comolli signed a lot of garbage for ridiculous prices, but that shouldn't matter. Kenny and Comolli aren't here, FSG have brought in a new manager whom they claimed was their first choice and yet they haven't done the right thing and back him in the transfer market. They keep going on about FFP, but that's a smokescreen. No-one is saying that FSG has to give Rodgers £150m to spend on new faces every transfer window which is what I always get accused of doing when slating FSG for their ridiculous transfer policy and I believe sooner or later there will be discontent amongst supporters and once that sets in then it spells trouble for FSG. I don't see why supporters are made to part with a plethora of their own fortune and FSG aren't prepared to invest some of their own fortune into the club to get the ball rolling. I slated Red Beer Goggles to the hilt when he criticised FSG a few months ago, but the more time that goes by, the more I'm starting to think he is right and I will probably end up owing the fella an apology.

Was just listening to 606 and Savage or whoever is saying you can't blame FSG's transfer policy, they have spent loads. Had to turn off, had enough for one day.

Looks like Sahin is gonna be going Arsenal and I haven't heard anything about Christian Tello. So is the club scrambling around trying to get anyone else in before the window shuts? Better hope so, and I'm not talking about Dempsey either. He's garbage.

i dont know what people expect andy to do,coming on when 3 down and the team deflated.most of his playing time under rodgers has been in an inferior side.he needs to be given a decent run in the team to see what he can offer and if he cant deliver by jan then relook at his situation.
sell to buy isnt a friend of ours and considering we lost bellamy, kuyt, maxi, aqualani and regained nothing in return, same will happen with cole either now or in january and that leaves us looking at the likes of agger, skyrtel and carroll to go to provide the money.
sooner this window closes the better and rodgers can settle down and get the best out of what he has and start winning games.

Obviously, BR's philosophy of football is yet to be fully realized and developed among the players. The problem with this more expansive style of football is that it looks nice to watch when everything is clicking. But if everything is not clicking like it's supposed to like yesterday, you can get really really exposed defensively. West Brom were having there way with our defense in the 2nd half. It was just too easy for them. We shouldn't be too alarmed about it yet since it is early days. When the mancs lose they lose terribly as well losing by 3-0, 4-0, 5-0. I am concerned though, whether the owners will support BR fully. We probably need 2 more players who can play the way rodger wants. I thought that downing was terrible yesterday... So we need a wide player...

Difficult to stomach that result however its the first game in a period of change so these things will happen.

All I ask is the manager does not blame the ref, defend our players when they were obviously at falut or deny the obvious. Lets turn the corner and call a spade a spade.

My suspicion (and I could be wrong) is that what Rodgers says to the press on Saturday and what he says to the players on Monday ain't the same thing.

Thats as bad as anything from last season, Ive seen players say sorry for letting the fans down for alot less.

I hope Bren rips them a new one!
