But we do need a few more better quality players to enforce BR's style of play. Borini and Allen but that's not enough.
That's not the manager's fault though is it? If FSG are refusing to supply Rodgers with funds and insist that he spends what the club generates, then this rebuilding job becomes a lot, lot harder.
Rodgers said it will take years to get us on track and I don't think he was overdramatising things, it's going to take years. Swapping the manager every season won't change a single thing.

Plus BR needs to sort out Gerrard's role in MF.

FSG have not put a single penny of their own fortune into our transfer kitty since they arrived here in October 2010. Now it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that you might need to spend a little in order to accumulate a lot. This whole moneyball approach stuff they're into might have worked with the Boston Red Sox, but it won't necessarily work here and so far it hasn't worked and it doesn't seem like it will work. United, Chelsea and City all open up their cheque books season after season signing some of the World's best talent, we cannot compete with these clubs unless we start getting regular Champions League football and become a sporting institution that companies want to build a sponsorship connection with. In order to compete this club needs to get back into the mix and it won't do this while the manager is forced to sell in order to buy and has to rely on current revenue streams in order to sign players.

I really thought we were passed that sell before you buy *****. Makes you think if Torres was still here how bad would the rest of the team be.

Some lack technical ability while others lack mental strength and these players need to be shipped out as soon as possible or loaned out at the very least. Brendan needs money to spend on players that will fit his system.
I've got a strong feeling that FSG will find themselves as marginalised at Liverpool as the previous owners were because they just do not or are not prepared to do what needs to be done in order to get us winning. If you bring in a new manager, you back him in the transfer window. You don't tell him to sell Agger or anyone else if he wants to bring in new faces.

If we had a fantastic side like City do then we'd be up there in the mix. Our side by in large is poor. Gerrard used to be a top player, he's nearing the end of his playing days, it's evident to everyone to see, even if you refuse to see it. We've got a few stand out players, but the rest just aren't good enough and there is so poor and average that nobody wants them. The fact that we've had four managers in three seasons is a reflection not the manager, but on the club in general.
FSG must back their manager in the transfer market, if they aren't prepared to do that, then do the right and sell the club to someone who will.

This is it, but it also didn't help that Kenny and Comolli signed a lot of garbage for ridiculous prices, but that shouldn't matter. Kenny and Comolli aren't here, FSG have brought in a new manager whom they claimed was their first choice and yet they haven't done the right thing and back him in the transfer market. They keep going on about FFP, but that's a smokescreen. No-one is saying that FSG has to give Rodgers £150m to spend on new faces every transfer window which is what I always get accused of doing when slating FSG for their ridiculous transfer policy and I believe sooner or later there will be discontent amongst supporters and once that sets in then it spells trouble for FSG. I don't see why supporters are made to part with a plethora of their own fortune and FSG aren't prepared to invest some of their own fortune into the club to get the ball rolling. I slated Red Beer Goggles to the hilt when he criticised FSG a few months ago, but the more time that goes by, the more I'm starting to think he is right and I will probably end up owing the fella an apology.
