Immaterial to your point you were trying to make.

You were trying to make out that we have stripped the first team bare when that's false - the numbers in the first team are the same as last year.

lol your reading too  much into my post this time mate, i fear that even last years team needed a hell of a lot of work done on it and dont see any of the players that have left so far are going to be missed apart from Kuyt.

but i do feel we need to buy top players from top clubs to make a real go at it this season.

but i was just in fact asking have we ever had a player come back from loan that has turned out to be a great player for us, i just cant think of one?

Why were you mentioned 9 players leavcing then when most were kids

The only loan player I can remember coming back and even getting into the team is Stephen Warnock.  He went to Coventry and got player of the season there, then came back and got into the first team squad (albeit he wasn't first choice).  Hardly outstanding but we sold him on for a few mil on the back of that.

know there had to be one. thanks.

Craig Johnston  great player and a great guy.

Not sure whether Sterling was loaned out but certainly I think Shelvey will be an awesome player for us, we have a lot of exciting young talent in the club, don't overlook that.

Come on identify yourselves. Who's going to make a tit out of themselves by slating the manager after game 1?

The owners need to get a move on in getting in whoever the manager has identified as a target. 10 days left to the end of the window?

I'm not going to get too down about this but if we play like this against City we will get hammered.

Me no point playing tippy tappy football when you got a squad full of unskillfull players. Gerrard and Suarez exempt. Skrtel and kelly looked so uncomfartable when pepe rolling the ball out. Plus like i said wheres our plan B. Bringing Carroll on who the manager doesnt want isnt plan B in my eyes. Joe cole should play with a zimmer frame may help.

I'm not going to slate the manager after one game but I'm afraid I don't agree with the Saint and David Fairclough that the first half performance was good - it was average at best.

As for loads of chances being created in the first half there were two in the first half Suarez scuffed it well wide and the second a clear header. I'm not having a go at the manager but if you're not going to play Carroll but then your best chance is in the air it surely raises questions. The earlier Suarez chance with his left foot didn't come out of great passing or interchange on our part it was from a mistake by West Brom.

Brendan needs time and will get time so I'm not slating anyone but to my mind it's delusional to believe that the first half performance was great or that much has changed since last season.

anyone having a go at the manager after that can get lost. seniors player let him down with poor execution and basic errors.

I think BR will learn from his mistakes soon.

We played well in the first half, created lots of chances, but we looked weak on the counter attack throughout the game.

What worries me is that after we went down Gerrard just started stinking the whole place up. Just couldn't keep his calm and play properly. I was very impressed by Allen though.

Well I'm not slating, but the pressure thing didn't really work that well. When our players tried to win the ball back, they just gave WBA the space to make an easy pass, so all we did was running around while they looked like they were toying with us.

I think in some aspects, it's a good thing to have a shocker to start off with.

We were riding high on comfortable wins against Gomel and Leverkusen. This loss means we will put our heads together and focus now.

I'm tired of the "Oh sh*t, I came close to scoring, it was beautiful chance I created" kind of attitude that I see from some players.

IT'S NOT ENOUGH. We aren't trying to entertain here, we're trying to score goals and WIN. No excuses can be considered, unless the ball is in the back of the net.
