Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Says he's excited to play this style of football where the keeper is more involved.

Anybody think maybe he'll get his head in the game a bit more and actually look like the Reina we had a couple seasons ago?

Pepe is a real team player, and hasn't once complained or made a fuss about being on the bench...unlike others in the Euros.

Really happy for the guy, and the Roque shirt was a nice touch.  Enjoy lad, we'll be needing you next season back on form  :bowdown

Congrats Pepe. You deserve a lot of success and medals for the way you have saved Liverpool on many occasions.

all over the back of the echo there`s headlines saying we are not selling reina and buying lloris the french keeper.
apparently over the weekend there were strong rumours that we were going to buy lloris but the club have come out and rubbished the reports.
getting a bit fed up of these constant rumours that we are going to either lose players or lose out on players, so far the likes of reina, skrtel, agger and bellamy have all been linked with moves away from anfield and by the sounds of it this gylfi fella has chosen spurs over us.
the club need to put a marker down and go out and make a signing that will give everyone at the club a lift and at the same time send out a message that we are looking up not down.

We wouldn't get Lloris anyway, he says he won't move to a club that isn't in the Champions League, so that's us out of running (even if we were interested in signing him).

i still think big players would come to this club, obviously you have the likes of that gylfi fella who is just concerned about the money but as rodgers himself mentioned the fact we havent been top dogs for a while is a big attraction to people like him who understand the game.
we are not a sleeping giant we a sleeping f**king leviathian, believe me if you gave man united the choice of one club they wouldnt want to see winning the league again it wouldnt be city it would be us because they full well know just as we knew in the early 90`s that when clubs the size of us or united get on a roll of winning titles they become very hard to stop.
in 1977 we reached the european cup final, although the 70`s were tough times with high unemployment, strikes, raging inflation and power cuts 30,000 fans made their way to rome, this was at a time when the furthest most people ever went was north wales, it was the biggest mass exodus of people across the continent since the second world war and fans did anything to get there, some people sold their cars and others quit their jobs to get their redundancy pay. a few months later those two top 4 `giants` chelsea and man city played each other at stamford bridge in a top flight fixture and the attendance was 18,782.
huge numbers of fans travelling to far flung places to follow their team just wasnt in the culture back then, no club in the world had that type of fanatical following but we werent no ordinary club.
we will get it right one day lad, just like united 20 years ago we are too big a club not to have our day again and when our day comes trying to stop this club will be like trying to stop a supertanker. if players want to be a part of that or not it`s up to them, but our day will come.

So, Pepe not on the plane to the US. Still on holiday?

Reina isn't in the tour squad at all.

Not surprising though, if Carroll is getting an extra week because of England's involvement in the Euro's then Reina's break will be even longer for being part of a squad that got to the final. The tour is less than two weeks long.
