I know plenty of Arsenal fans that want to win something and getting sick of having no trophies.

But the money is rolling in for the owners so they are happy.

Their supporters want silverware in the cabinet though! I have seven or eight Arsenal supporting mates and they would have loved to have won the Carling Cup or FA Cup this season.

i know Arsenal fans too, and they would like to win stuff...but there's no way they would swap places with us, and people pretending otherwise are deluded.

The doom sayers can harp on all day with that "If...if...if" but our club has been run badly for years, and it looks like they're going to change that.  If they fail (had to use an IF there  ) then fine, slate them all you like. But comparing them to H&G is, quite frankly, ridiculous.

You spent the last six months being a doom sayer predicting how bad the club would be in Kenny stayed in charge.

Bit of a turnaround isn't it

I do know that Arsenal have had a few dissenters this season but they were ecstatic with 3rd place and had a huge party......but I was merely indicating that the self funding stadium plan and business strategy you imply doesn't fit in well for the current "manager gets 1 year and your out unless you get a CL place"  ....obviously if you have seen something in you crystal ball

One of the reasons the stadium project is stumbling is because we are not playing in the champions league or at the top end of the league. If we were, we would get a far better naming rights deal and generally more commercial income. Without that income we won’t be able to build a stadium.

And winning the league cup and finishing mid-table does?

Look at the bigger picture, we need top 4 finishes to get the CL money to pay for better players and a new ground. Kenny took us closer to relegation than Champtions League football and that is why he has gone.

To get CL football we need better players , to get better players we need more funds - the owners need to get their hands in their pockets first. They need to speculate first.

I can’t think of any clubs who have built a stadium without loaning money from the banks and paying them back with operating profit? How else are we supposed to fund the stadium? It does mean a bit of pain in the short to medium term (I'm guessing anything between 5-15 years) but there is no other way. Arsenal are ahead of the curve and Chelsea and Tottenham are both desperate to do the same.

How do we get the players to get us into the top 4 ?

City spent 400 mill plus to get into the Top 4.

so we got one of the biggest kit deals in the world on the back of last seasons non europe qualifying campaigns looks like some have more confidence in LFC than the owners have.......
