Kenny Departs

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Doesn't look like KK's gonna have a whole lotta cash to splash in the transfer window....a number of "reports" sayingthe owners will let him continue but he won't get anything near 100M.
Time to try to raise a few quid in other ways then : sell Kuyt, Maxi, Spearing, Downing, Adam, Cole....retire Carra and Bellamy.....promote some of the younger players and see if they have what it takes

Sack him in May and re-instate him the day after the transfer window shuts

If the rumours are true, and the board are refusing to give Kenny more cash, then it doesn't say much for their confidence in our manager.

Either back him or sack him, otherwise we'll be battling it out in mid table again with the likes of Adam, Spearing and Downing in the team

It's an old poll, how about everyone voting again now?

Do you really want me to leave, do you want everyone on this forum to agree, wouldn't that be a bit boring?

Ok... I'm gonna stick my neck out and say that Kenny should leave and it is not because he deserves to go after the season we had (well... indirectly it is). And it is not because I don't like Kenny. It is also not because he doesn't deserve more time. It is because of the following reasons:

1. Kenny is a short term solution for us and he is not likely going to manage us for 5-6 years. He will manage us for 3 seasons max and this is also according to his contract.

2. After this season's performance, we are likely not going to win the league within the next 2 seasons. It will be a HUGE progress next season if we finish in a CL place next season. It will be another HUGE progress if we finish 2nd or 3rd the next next season without challenging for the title. And realistically speaking, it is less likely to happen than more.

3. There are so many very good managers out there we could appoint for longer term than Kenny. Eg Guardiola, Rafa, Fabio Capello, Jurgen Klopp, Mourinho, etc.

4. Kenny got his 3 season contract because he managed to finish 6th last season. It is to see what Kenny can do since he has turned around the team under Hodgson who were struggling for relegation. Instead of progressing, we regressed to 9th which makes it almost impossible for Kenny's team to win within 2 more seasons. Who would argue against the owners deciding, Ok, so that didn't work out, we might as well give more time to our long term solution, get the new manager in earlier so that we don't have to wait again after Kenny has fulfilled his contract...

Kenny could get 50M plus sales of players, is the only "report" I've heard.

Would it sit a lot prettier with you if the forum was 100% behind Kenny going ? I suppose you do realize it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference
because the fans have already voted for the man to stay .

just putting this whole need you and a few others have to be heard into perspective....no ones listening my Norwegian friend ,not even your fellow

Guardiola wants a rest. Rafa is like going backwards capello is a failed England manager and mourinho has insisted he wants to stay a real Madrid

The only one you could have a case for is klopp and he has just won the German league so why would here come here.

Besides another manager might not like the players here and will need to put his own touch on the squad.

Kenny gets at least 1 more year failing that( not getting top 4) we look for replacements

I'm finding it increasingly more difficult not to crease up laughing at the futility of these desperate attempts by posters who believe regurgitating
the diatribe the media regularly spout will in some small way lessen the managers time at the club ....... Its really hard not to sound like I'm not
thoroughly revelling in their pleas falling on deaf ears .....honestly

The fans have voted for him to stay, when was this then? Also I don't thin I have any more need to be heard than anybody else posting on a FORUM my English chum.

Hmm some weird form of schadenfreude perhaps, everyone has to find their amusements in their own way I suppose.
Anyway my point is that it doesn't matter a jot what we think about kenny, the only person who has any real say in his future employment are the board of FSG and I'd be extremely surprised if they share Kenny's view that it's been a "Great Season".
