so Kenny stays, but we hire someone else to do his job for him?   :no

Kenny is only still in charge because he's trading off his past glories, and that's a very dangerous road to travel down.  He has to go and we have to bring in someone who can rebuild the mess he's created.

If someone else comes in and Liverpool are 6th or 7th with 10 games to go next season are you saying you won't call for them to go as well?

If the club follows this approach we'll just become like Chelsea knee jerk decisions won't solve this.

we bring in a PROVEN top class manager, not a guy from our past who's been out of the modern game for more than a decade.

Kenny's a LFC legend, but he's NOT a great manager anymore. His approach is prehistoric (our training consists of 5-a-side matches) and his in-game decisions slow. Ask yourself, why was Kenny out of the game so long?  was it because he was still considered a top draw manager?  No, it was because he had been sacked from Newcastle and Celtic...he's made the same mistakes at Liverpool, and the longer he stays at thehelm the more damage he'll do to his reputation with the fans who don't remember his time as player and manager in the 70s and 80s.

Kenny has to do the right thing and step down, otherwise he'll be forced out of LFC for good.

I think we should focus more on trying to get back into the top six next season and then focus on getting into the top four the season after that (if we clinch a top six spot next season). It has to be small steps of progression going forwards. Granted I never really expected £100m worth of investment to guarantee us a top four spot, I never expected us to be sitting in 9th position in the league this season.

It won't be easy getting into the top four, but it's not an impossible task. With the right signings there is no reason why we cannot do a Newcastle next season and throw a proverbial cat amongst the pigeons.

IF we get Lucas back and he stays healthy next year, we might have a chance of top 4. Provided that we have to kill off opponents and improve the home form. We must get rid of the player that is weak mentally. It seems we are playing too nice so to speak. We must get a little bit nasty. At the same time, we need to get a more tactical manager. KK should be elavated upstairs and must not involve in the purchase of players. We should hire Rafa (not as a manager) back in charge of buying players as we now have a real owner who can support those purchase. Relatively speaking, Spanish players is still a bargain comparing to British. The main problem for us is the midfield. If we can get couple wingers in the mode of David silva, Suarez and Carroll will have unlimited supply and Goals will definitely come. We should also bring in Sterling instead of buying another striker. Use the money for wingers and possibly another Defensive midfielder as a back up of Lucas. Spearings just doesn't cut it. As we see from this season, we definitely need better option. I would be grateful if KK will step down as manager. In the beginning when KK took over, the players were running on adrenaline but as time goes by, the effect wore off and when we hit the bump, KK was not able to recover as he lacks the modern days managerial skill. Things just got worse from then on and ending up where we are today. Maybe we should hire pardew as manager as their style of football is really not bad.

Totally unproven in the premiership just as with your other choice Villas-Boas who you still defended on here just after he got the boot at Chelsea a couple of months back. You said he wasn't allowed to put his own stamp on the club or makes the changes to the team that he wanted to make which is fine. I disagree I thought last summer it was a risky appointment at Chelsea given that he'd only been in charge of Porto for two years the Portugese league is way behind the premiership and I also think that his age hindered him when it came to dealing with Chelsea's 30 plus players like Terry and Lampard.

So Villas-Boas left Chelsea in fifth when he was sacked supposing he'd come to Liverpool last summer you wouldn't have called for him to be sacked or resign had he only got Liverpool to fifth this season? I'm asking this in relation to my earlier post about KK in the sense that there is no guarantee of a top four finish in the first season for any new manager. Rafa finished fifth in 04-05 if he hadn't done so well in the ECL that year would you have called for Rafa to be sacked at the end of that season?

My point is that it takes time to build a team as John Barnes has pointed out on the radio today and as Lawrenson pointed out a few weeks ago the owners are not going to make any knee jerk decisions on the manager.

you're right, lets stick with a guy who has been out of top flight football for over a decade and has been sacked from his last two jobs.

good shout...i wouldn't mind him if KK decides to move up at DOF.

But if KK wants another year....then i hope he gets it. I still think he is an awesome motivator. He just falls a little short on tactics, match prepareness and substituitions. A carlos quiroz like Assistant manager is we we need. Just get rid of steve clarke or move him down as a defensive coach

I thought we had seen the last of that proven premiership quality nonsense.
