Totally unproven in the premiership just as with your other choice Villas-Boas who you still defended on here just after he got the boot at Chelsea a couple of months back. You said he wasn't allowed to put his own stamp on the club or makes the changes to the team that he wanted to make which is fine. I disagree I thought last summer it was a risky appointment at Chelsea given that he'd only been in charge of Porto for two years the Portugese league is way behind the premiership and I also think that his age hindered him when it came to dealing with Chelsea's 30 plus players like Terry and Lampard.
So Villas-Boas left Chelsea in fifth when he was sacked supposing he'd come to Liverpool last summer you wouldn't have called for him to be sacked or resign had he only got Liverpool to fifth this season? I'm asking this in relation to my earlier post about KK in the sense that there is no guarantee of a top four finish in the first season for any new manager. Rafa finished fifth in 04-05 if he hadn't done so well in the ECL that year would you have called for Rafa to be sacked at the end of that season?
My point is that it takes time to build a team as John Barnes has pointed out on the radio today and as Lawrenson pointed out a few weeks ago the owners are not going to make any knee jerk decisions on the manager.
you're right, lets stick with a guy who has been out of top flight football for over a decade and has been sacked from his last two jobs.
I didn't say we should stick with Kenny for the long term I was making an argument about the other two candidates. Villas-Boas was sacked at Chelsea because of four wins in twelve premiership games yet you think he'd be right for Liverpool?
