People easily forget what it was like in the pre-Pepe days of Calamity James and Jerzy at his zero-confidence worst etc..

Folks remember Jerzy for the 2005 final however the previous 2 seasons had been a complete nightmare, the last decent keeper we had prior to Reina was Brucie (apart from the games he was paid off).

Good news and bad news.

Bad news first... Pepe interview in the Daily Mirror: "Liverpool could be THREE YEARS away from challenging for the title fears Pepe Reina"

Good news... If, as seems likely, Pepe will be looking elsewhere, there doesn't appear to be many places for him to go. Real and Barca goalkeeper positions are locked. Man U, Chelsea, City.. locked (man u have just bough de gea). There is two possibilities though.. Paris st Germain..cr@p league tho. And finally ...Spurs. Friedel is quality.. but hes 42.. and if Spurs are in CL and thats enough for Pepe, there may well be interest. Pepe had itchy feet last summer, and had Arsenal pushed the boat out they may well have got him. He sees us no further forward (we sit 7th, same place where Rafa left us).. and hes in his prime. The one hope is there are no real options for him.

If we were to win a trophy and at least get back into Europa im sure he'd stick around for another while longer.

Cant blame him if he leaves though. He's given us 6 seasons and stuck with us threw the harder times.
At his age I can understand why he might want to be competing in CL right now.

He did a commercial involving some black tribe members, and it's been decided it's a racist commercial. Somehow people are sitting here saying Reina's racist now, and that he should know better since he's played in England for so long... Seriously? They really just hate us. He didn't write the :censored:

someone might as well just print that they're trying to castigate us for anything and everything. What an absolute joke. I read a piece in the Guardian that mentioned this as a big deal for about three paragraphs then went on to slate us for Suarez all over again for the rest of the article
