Interesting...

I didn't say that. I meant that with the kind of deliveries he made to Carroll he could make a handicap look like a goalscorer.

So no-one else can deliver a ball like Gerrard?

In our team? Definitely.

And yet with the ball put on a plate for him three times by Stevie, Carroll still didn't score. ???

others can deliver a ball as good as SG but not as regular, not as consistently and certainly not as confidently which i believe is a large part of the reasonin behind it not happenin. He's been out most th season, th crowd are watchin - in the main - decent attackin football but with so many chances goin beggin players are gettin cautious to be the one to miss, to fluff that pass, to be in the wrong place. But SG dont have that problem - he 'dont care' if he misses he jus gets on and has a go and if he scores he scores and if he misses well he'll score next time. it must be every players dream to be that confident, and quite rightly he can display that - the rest have to achieve it as well now
Stu Averill, a wannabe Scouse/Scot. I remember the good times & have faith in them comin back

Beside the Hillsborough Flame, I heard a Koppite mournin, "Why so many taken on that day?" Justice has never been done. But their memory we'll carry on. There'll be Glory Round The Fields Of Anfield Road

Nope. Only posted this just to break up the hypnotism the bloody russian doll syndrome brings !

What, that we don't have players who can deliver as good as Gerrard? No, but the fact that he is in such a poor form is his fault. That was the whole point actually, that Gerrard made such a bad player (at the moment) look like he can actually contribute. That's what was "different". Like I said, that's only for starters.

Possibly, but I'm worried, the fellas 23 in a weeks time and only has about 40 career goals to his name, and he will not get easier chances to score than those provided to him by Gerrard tonight. If he can't put those away....

on another note...

I thoughts Gerrard look outstanding tonight, back to his best after just 80 mins of football after a 2 month injury.

He's still our best player and he's still the man to lead us to glory

I agree
Lets hope that others do what he did for Carroll tonight and then he can then add his name on the scoresheet. We won 3-1 and Carroll was part of that victory whether people like it or not.

Clark Kent to the rescue as per usual. Incredible performance when you consider hes barely kicked a ball for 2 months. His assists were on a plate, just imagine a Defoe (or someone of that ilk) on the end of them.

Nice for Steven to end on a high with the last goal of an injury hit year. Fingers crossed he has an injury free 2012.

Nice comeback. Good distraction. Clever girl
Lets indeed hope that Gerrard stays injury free so that all the others may be inspired by him and raise their game for the benefit of LFC as was shown by the team tonight

You just have to applaud the legend.

I have said earlier that we will not see the same old Gerrard but I'm not to sure about that after seeing him tonight.
