the club statement: standing by their player, in the context of a 'word' he used with no derogatory racial conatations in his native speak and on his word, that this is the context he used it in
the judgement: served without reasons and evidence provided fuelling speculation and furore - not likely to be seen until mid-January
the players statement: in the face of media headlines and the absence of a 'basis' - fuelling racist claims against Luis. Statement supports Luis' cultural based use of the word and that he is not a racist.
the T-shirts: supporting the individual and his being labelled. No regard to cultural basis of use of word being acknowledged.. the players and manager stand-by one of their own, who is being villified for use of a culutrally acceptable word, for him - 'he should know better'
GOD WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS :
Alan Hansen: should he know better... ummm is he a racist? HOW LONG HAS ALAN BEEN HERE.. HE'S ON NATIONAL TV.. AND USES THE WORD 'COLOURED' LOL it is comical..HOW LONG HAS LUIS BEEN HERE ? AND HE SHOULD KNOW BETTER RE: A CULTURALLY ACCPETABLE WORD FOR HIM !!!
John Terry: CRIMINAL CHARGES LOL.. and now a moral dilemma for the FA
Talk Sport
: ... criticise T-shirts and yet these sh@ts employ out-an-out sexists.. outed by a microphone airing sexist views held... apologised cos they got caught, otherwise they would not have - Luis' use of the 'word' culturally motivated yet the club is being slated for standing with him on that point!!!
WE ARE RIGHT... AND EVERYONE ON HERE NEEDS TO REMEMBER THAT LUIS' DEFENCE AND ADMISSION HAS BEEN MOTIVATED SOLELY BY HIS UNDERSTANDING OF THE 'WORD' IN HIS NATIVE LAND AND LANGUAGE. HE HAS MAINTAINED THIS POSITION ALWAYS AND SO IT IS HIS WORD AGAINST EVRA'S... IN THE CONTEXT OF HOW HE USED THE WORD AND HIS UNDERSTANDING OF IT - not derogatory not racist...
WE ARE RIGHT TO STAND BY OUR OWN !
