ok I seem many threads about players not getting goals but there’s an Elephant in the room....Reina
In the last 3 games he has made mistakes that could have cost us, and last night it did.
two games in a row he come out of his area leaving the back 4 to clean up his mess.
Then last night he spills the ball (something he has also been doing a lot this year) it was an easy take, it as if his mind has turned off, JC last season had to keep telling him to keep an eye on the ball.

Yes he is a great player and pulles off some great saves but when you are the last man you need to keep your mind on the game and think one step ahead.

Coming out of his goal in the City game was a very poor choice and looked like a lost sheep when he did not get the ball.

He is still one of the best in the Prem but if he dont up his game theres always your no2.

Reina is still a fantastic keeper.  Think he performed a bit better a few years ago because of the goalkeeping coach we had under Rafa.  (cant quite remember his name).

what the hell are you  on about, Reina was superb against city and showed great awareness coming of his line. He is one of the worlds best keepers and easily one of our best players and were very lucky to have considering the absolute dross we have produced since 2009, he's one of the few players in our squad who dosnt deserve any critism in my opinion.

city game
"Pepe Reina raced out of his area and appeared to use a hand to smuggle the ball clear, but referee Martin Atkinson saw nothing wrong when it might have been a red card offence."

Chelsea game

"Pepe Reina come out of his area three time to leave Liverpools back door wide open"

Fulham Game
"Murphy beat Glen Johnson on the edge of the 18-yard box and Reina embarrassingly spilled the midfielder's low shot."

the goal yesterday was as much johnson's fault for easily allowing murphy to get into the position to shoot. he essentially kept us in the game before that.

those criticising should sit back and ask themselves if they'd swap him for any other keeper in the league. i certainly wouldn't.

True
Kelly should have played yesterday
Johnson is not a good defender

no i would not but his mistakes over the last few games do need to be looked at as they were very silly ones. things that he can put right with ease.

If they are not picked up then they often happen again.

i agree that reina has made one or two mistakes and bad decisions in the last few games. after much deep though and consideration i can only come to the conclusion that he's human.

but the case is that last year he started to make mistakes and sorted himself out, now they seem to be coming back.

yes its ok to make mistakes....if it dont end in a goal. this time it cost us a goal and the team could not pull it back.

I dont see him at the club this time next year, I dont care about his contract or what he says, I dont think he is happy here anymore.
