To be fair to Vorn, he isn't wide of the mark really is he? This side seem reliant on his individual brilliance, like our recent sides over the years relied (to an extent) on Gerrard.

Suarez's team mates aren't stepping up and doing their bit, and at the moment I can't honestly see where, or from whom (perhaps Bellamy) the additional quality is going to come from.
Be it clinical in front of goal, bossing the midfield or terrorising fullbacks.

he is spot on and thats why it hurts so much.
swansea humbling liverpool at anfield is embarrassing and now tactically we were out thought  .
we always relied on gerrard and then torres and now its moved to suarez and should we end up having a mediocre season then his tune will change.

from the defense up with the exception of 1 or 2 the players have been poor and inconsistent.despite that i would stick with the like's of downing adam henderson and carroll and change the formation of attack to get more from them.
they do deserve to be played but rotated somewhat more and they are here for the long haul.
id go with.

                                  lucas.
downing                  adam/hendo                   suarez.
                carroll                  bellamy.

back in 08 we had a great squad with lots of big names and our share of average ones.the big names left and we got left with the average and now bought more average on top of that and thats why we find ourselves where we are now.
the difference though that what we just bought are young and have potential but are still learning and it looks like it will take time as depressing as it may be in the meantime.we really need to add 2 or 3 marquee signings to that team in the next window or two.

were not winning games atm when we should be but were not losing them either so its only a matter of time before the cap fits and our goalscoring improves and so will the end result.

we had an exceptional first eleven but not a great squad. infact we had 5 world class players in reina, mascherano, alonso, gerrard and torres all at the peak of their powers and injury free. add that to kuyt and benayoun chipping in with goals and a solid back four and we were a great side.

you could argue that the squad now is better in terms of depth but the side is nowhere near that 08/9 side. the thing is, our new owners have a strategy in mind and it's going to take time for that strategy to bear fruit. we're not like man city who have no concern with any long term strategy at all and just throw ridiculous wages around.

We did have a lot of luck in that 08/09 season when we finished second, everyone in the team was firing. We scored lots of dirty Man U style last minute goals to acquire so many points....oh and there was only 2 Englishmen in the first 11.   :eyebrow

Yep, let's give KD one full season to make everything right again.  That's sensible.  And bring in ... em ... oh, yeah.  Sven's available again.  We could try him for three months and then give him his usual 2m pay-off.  Come on Kewell, I'd expect better from you.  Patience, people.  It'll come good.

We also had some dropped points through that season that could be deemed bad luck.  two draws vs newly promoted Stoke.  A loss at Spurs where we dominated and seemed to have a great eye for the woodwork.  Loss to soon to be relegated Middlesbrough.  We should have won the league that year.  No two ways about it.  It was there for the taking and we gave it away.  We sold our only backup frontman in January back to where he came from (After he had scored 2 in 3 before being left out of the team)   Alonso got injured against Preston in the FA Cup.

We've struggled against the teams we should beat for at least the past 5 years.  It's something that needs to be rectified.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

I think Kenny was only give a few goals to get this year, get as far as you can in the fa cup and end up in the top 5 of the prem, anything over that is a Bonus.

I'm pretty sure lakes top 4 was a priority, if I recall Mr Henry's take on it.

i dont think what they say and what they realy think Kenny can do in his first full year is the same. it was clear from the start that we had a lot of ground to make up.

to make others think we can be right up there, you dont come out and say "we can not make the top four as the others are better and we are not going to win the fa cup"

tends to put your team on a downer lol

Ofcourse top4 is a priority as thats where the money is, and thats what we need to attract top players. Every year we are below the top 4 makes it harder for us to break back into the top.

Totally agree. Rome wasn't built in a day, our revival wont happen overnight.

Booing is a very last resort to vent frustration at either bad owners or bad management. We have neither.

Dalglish is working with a team that has been neglected for at least 3 seasons (if not more). Support and patience is what's needed.
