Tell them to get stuffed and sell to the highest bidder but I would like to see him back, maybe Kenny can sway him. 5 million is an insult!

Exactly these owners are not fools, no way they'll sell for 5 million.  He may be off form by he's still one of the best midfielders in Seria A.  15 million or :censored: off.

Gerrard.    Meireles. Aquilani.  Cole.

               Suarez
                            Carroll

Juve may be becoming a non starter, but other Italian clubs will come in with a higher offer for sure. If he is playing well for Juve which I have heard he is) and remaining injury free we will get more than 5 million.

I'm still not warming to the idea of Aqua coming back - also that team only has three defenders! We'd get ripped apart!  :p

If he's worth at least double the money to us, surely he's worth a punt here at LFC considering our lack of strength and depth in the squad. However, if he's not upto it then would should sell him wherever possible. But I'm sure a good man manager like Kenny and the coaching skills of Clarke could get much more out of Aquilani than we previously saw.

Some really interesting quotes from Juve in this football tips blog.

Marotta said: "He has to feel comfortable because the fact that we took him on loan didn't mean that we had to evaluate him. His qualities have been known since he played in his youth for Roma and in the national team. In due time, we'll meet with Liverpool and we will do everything to keep him with us."

I expect sending him back is a ruse to try and get a cut price move to go through. Expect him to sulk like mad on his return, and then go for not much money, with some add ons.

Think I agree with that.
Would also add, (without getting into his ability or even knowing the fella personally) from the off I never expected him to settle in Liverpool and he's deffo another "want away" player.

Don't want to see us get ripped off again as far as transfer price is concerned but maybe we just have to bite the bullet and take what the market offers, as the likes of Alonso, Mascherano and Torres have shown, there's no point in trying to hang on to a player who clearly doesn't want to be here.

I think if the truth was known i dont think Kenny rates him as a player, he is not going to come out and say that when he is trying to sell him.

getting him in the first place was a very big mistake.

I agree with this as well. Aquilani was Rafa's downfall, one of the many reasons listed for his sacking/resignation

I can't understand what people saw that was brilliant from him. He was in and out of the team and never really looked settled. I know we paid a hefty amount and everyone really wants to see it be worth it but it wasn't and IMO it never will be

Fair point Greavsie.  The Water Boy was never a 17 Mil player, and Rafa paid way over the odds, for and injured player.  However, I do think he can be a more than decent squad player for us.  People need to do one thing when thinking of Aquillani, Forget his price tag and think of what he brings to to team now.  The money has gone, it's not an issue anymore.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

I agree with this, like most players who don't make it at liverpool, fans tend to judge them on what they did previously to merit their move here as opposed to what they have shown in a liverpool jersey since.

Fact of the matter is, some players whether it be due to injury, playing climate etc don't make the grade. In aquilani's case, unfortunately it was both.

Bad injury, weak psycological state as a result of it and simply no stomach or the aggression to make it in the high octane world of the premiership. The loan back to italy was disappointing as it will do sod all for his immersion into the english game. Mind you it was blatantly obvious that his loan was just a "buy now pay next year" deal. He won't play for liverpool again. Had f@nny written all over him. We don't need players like that.
