The Spain Under-21 international signed for the Reds last July from La Liga side Sevilla for around £7million but has since seen his first-team participation limited, featuring only as a substitute in all his nine appearances in the Premier League and was dropped from the lineup several times.

According to Football Direct News, his recent involvement in a drunk-driving controversy that had him suspended from taking on the wheels for twelve months aggravated the fact that he was not able to live up to his billing, prompting the Merseyside hierarchy to send him elsewhere before he becomes a headache.

if true then our committee needs to be fooked right off, what kind of sh!te is this  :eyebrow  rent a player!!

It was on TV here for some reason so I decided to watch it and I thought that Alberto did well. Not just the goal but his overall performance was fantastic. He's only there on loan though right? Because the commentator made it sound like we've sold him there.

Yeah he's only on loan ,and those commentators got everything wrong ,Rob Lee was calling him Luis Garcia ,but he linked up most of Malaga's inventive football .

Alberto has scored another goal for Malaga to add to the 2 he got the other day, 3 in 2 games, the lad may have found some form

Even though we've  only seen fleeting glimpses of his potential since signing ,he was one of the Kops favourite young players....We still hold high hopes for this kid.

Pretty sure BR has seen a lot more of him than us. And if his decision is a loan to Malaga, then he must have a good reason for it. Hell, I'd probably score for Malaga.

I don't think you know what you're talking about lad. Malaga are a good team, they finished in the top 4 two seasons ago and played in the quarter finals in the Champions League. Right now they're probably on par with the Newcastles and Southamptons of our league, probably even better. They're a good team and if Luis gets to play regular football there it would be a good experience for him.

Whilst I'm not about to totally discredit your ability with a football mate  :D I must say Malaga looked pretty impressive against both Newcastle and the Hammerz
and Alberto played a pivotal part in the football that was played.

Maybe something to do with getting caught driving twice the legal alcohol limit while talking on the phone
