seriously though I do agree that 90 grand is excessive for a bench player - we really can't afford it, let's address that issue first, see what we can do about that

He probably doesnt figure in the starting 11 today but then again you never know what happens until next season... One thing is for sure: he hasnt done enough to guarantee his place in the squad..
90grand a week is not what im talking about here.. I'm talking about the club having a well balanced squad that can go out and challenge for honors.. You cant do that unless you have quality in depth.. If we sell him tomorrow and bring in a Krankjar, Arshavin, A.Johnson, A.Valencia, Malouda..etc type of player i'd be more than happy... That said, to get that sort of player would cost the club quite a bit of money with no guarantees that said player would be better than J.Cole or would get more opportunities... I dont really believe that Cole got his opportunity to show what he offers with Liverpool yet for whatever reason... To see Kenny bring on Shelvey as a wide player ahead of Cole is surprising to be honest..
To answer your question GYBS because i know you wont stop asking it and i probably wont be around to keep arguing... He doesnt figure in th starting 11 now because he hasnt earned a spot for whatever reason.. What he offers is a potentially top quality player who is already contracted to the club and who can do a job if managed properly by someone who gets the best out of him..

Can we afford to have someone sat on the bench earning 90 grand a week ?
Kenny will be manager next season - it's pretty much a guarentee - we are looking at true wide players already but Cole isn't even that - so where does he play ?
Off a striker ? - well we have two players better and more productive there- Suarez and Kuyt
Where exactly would Cole fit into the team - he has to be more than just a squad member .

Why do people always bring up the 90k a week wage, I don't give a sh*t if he is getting paid 200k a week. I think its a poor argument when someone brings wages into the debate anyways, he can be earning less than 90k because of taxes![]()
What matters most is what he will bring to team, while gybs is so happy that Joe Cole has failed with Liverpool just to prove a point, I'll agree withe ace regarding Cole's qualities and I think we need a strong squad next season if we need to go all out for a title challenge, f*ck the 90k, we need players like Joe Cole on the bench that would bring more options or use as plan B.

Do you want to say that to the thousands that give money to the club daily , weekly and monthly - how much he pays in taxes mean feck all when we still fork out 90 grand , we arent Man City who can afford to fork out massive wages on bench players - and just to make the point again - new UEFA rules mean we can only spend what we earn so we have to get our finances spot on so 90 grand on someone who doesnt play week in week out is wasting money best spent elsewhere
What matters most is what he will bring to team
What exactly does he bring to the team ?
Cole's qualities
Which are what ? And when exactly did he last show it - in either a Liverpool shirt (never) or a Chelsea shirt ( 3 years ago before his serious injury )
There is no point constantly going on about Cole's supposed quality when he hasnt shown any quality for years now
