after seeing Kenny giving chances to our young local lads - Kelly, Spearing, Wilson, Shelvy etc etc.
so far Kelly did not disappoint, Spearing has started to show his usefulness. Wilson and Shelvy still need more time.

We as outsiders, rave about him but who knows him more than Kenny and his boot team ?
my point is if Pacheco is not in the team, he is probably not good enough.

I agree with the rest of your post, but this is the last thing we need - another central player playing out wide? Nope, give me a couple of out and out wingers please.

Good point.

I still would love to sign Adam tho... Very talented player.  Gerrard's only getting older.

Yeah, I think he'd be a good player for us at the right price - I think there is a good chance he'll be coming our way this summer.

Adam would be a good signing, but not as a winger. Neither Poulsen or Spearing are good enough and both should imo go in the summer.

However we need wingers...one world class guy and another younger player to learn his trade. We are desperately short in width and need this area addressed in the summer

Im not raving about him, I would just like to see him given the chance.
If the others you spoke about were tearing up trees then I could see your point.
He must be seriously sh'ite if he cant get a game while Ngog, Lucas, Maxi and Cole are performing like they have been

Bring back Adam Hammill, he'd run rings around all of the above.

Another one we let go far too easily.

Have a look at Peterborough United on sky at the moment.. they are Playing Milton Keynes Dons..

League one stuff I know.. but I go to see Posh occasionally and I like the look of their number 10 George Boyd.. he is 23 and a left winger/striker....

Also the leagues top scorer Craig Michael-Smith

See what you think of them if you have a moment or two.. I know we have money to spend in the summer, but Boyd would be a potential bargain.

Always had the ability but unfortunately was never going to get a chance.

Pennant on the other hand let himself down big time. He's playing out of his skin at the moment and had the ability to make it here. Unfortunately, Athens aside, he never really fulfilled his promise.

The lad at Barca being linked with us in tomorrow's Sunday Mirror I'm not convinced. At £7 million if he's that good why would Barca be prepared to let him go? This debate is going in the wrong direction if we're going to turn round the wrong players coming to the club in the last few years.

We've tried wingers from France and Spain Smicer, Nunez, Riera, Gonzalez and Pennant from Birmingham. They weren't up to the job in the premiership and in any event simply buying wingers isn't the answer. You can knock as many crosses in all day but Carroll won't head them all in and if it's just going to be direct like that is it going to be that much better than under Rafa?

I'm all for decent balls into the box now and then but I suspect that if Kenny wants to bring back pass and move he'll sign players who can play pass and move and can acclimatise quickly into the premiership. I'm not convinced that the players we're being linked with are the ones we'll go for.

Buy Ashley Young

I know United will be in for him in the summer but we will to and we have to pull out all stops to get him.

Ashley Young would be a decent buy as he's proven in the premiership and would link well with Carroll and Suarez. The question is if United go for him as well wil he come to Anfield?

Gonzalez was a huge let down for me...came here with lots of hype, but turned out to be :censored:

I still think Young on one side and Jarvis on the other and we'd probably be in really good shape.

I really don't know what to make of Jarvis, has anyone watched in often this season? My mate supports Wolves reckons he's the sh!t but I don't take that as much of a compliment towards the guy (no offence Wolves fans :D )

I'd rather go for Johnson
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

I'd say smicer was a success. I seem to remember him playing inside rather than the wings though.
