Too many wingers

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby 2520years » Thu Jan 12, 2006 5:06 pm

This is our current situation.

Left-wingers:
Harry Kewell

Right Wingers:
No-one

Zenden is best in the middle.
Riise is best as a left-back (arguably).
Garcia is best as a second striker.
Gonzalez won't wear a Liverpool shirt until next season.
Gerrard is best in the middle.
Kromkamp is best as a right-back.

Too many wingers isn't our biggest problem.  You may as well argue we haven't got enough keepers.

we've got options on the left but when it comes to the right we always have to put players there who arnt built to be right wingers example:

Cisse, Pongulle, Garcia, Finnan, Gerrard even Kewell has played there

We just need someone who can get to the by line and get a cross in for the strikers.

i think the signings coming in and the way it effects the team and who is in it, who should be in it and who will be (un)happy about it is worth discussion.

Wierd -  is adding to it

pointless? is that because you disagree or because you fail to see the point. (it was to ask opinions on who people thought would/should go, if there was no room in the team for them)

pathetic - is posting just to have a go at someone.

why post derogatory remarks? simply explain your opinion in a mature way please. disagreements don't need to be insulting.

The only out and out winger who we currently have fit is Harry Kewell. So we definately do not have too many wingers.

However, to have fans asking these questions is refreshing, because it shows us that we have a very versatile squad and that Rafa has succeeded in trying to give Liverpool as many choices as possible.
