:p

Hello all

It was only a matter of time...  :lookaround

I did wait a while to be fair - it is amusing reading some of the stuff from July  :p

I hadn't ever clicked on the Joe Cole thread because I joined after he signed... Just clicked on it for the first time and I started laughing

Everybody was so excited for him to join and it reminded me how excited I was too! However, all the marquee signings before KK took over seem to have the same affects... Keane, Aqua, Cole.  Thank God it's finally taken a change for the good!

Is Joe Cole fit at the moment? I'm hoping for his sake he hasn't been because he idn't get anywhere near the 12,13, 14 shirt let alone the starting line-up. It's a real shame how things have turned out for him but i think he will be the first player out the door in the summer with Redknapp probably keen to take the lad back to London.

I would say he's fit, he's been on the bench for the last 5 or 6 games, got 3 minutes away at Sunderland, a couple of minutes at West Brom and was unused in the games against Man City and Arsenal. In my opinion it speaks volumes how the coaching staff think of him when Shelvey was chosen to take to the field in the game against Arsenal and Joe was just sat on the bench twiddling his thumbs.

I think he could do a job for us if he changed his attitude

The lad has been totally rubbish for us and he's had plenty of chances to prove otherwise.  Id sell him immediatly if an offer of 4M or higher came in.

Shame really cos I was so excited when we signed him.

He reminds me of Harry Kewell a little bit... on the one hand, its hard to give up on a player with so much potential thats had his fair share of success over the years.

But on the other hand, he just hasnt justified being anywhere near our first 11.
Clearly Kenny hasn't seen much in Joe or Maxi either.  They can't even get a few mins on the pitch between them.

Safe enough to say that last summers transfer business was pretty tragic... we shipped out Yossi, Aqua, Insua, Mascherano and Riera and we brought in Jovan, Cole, Poulsen, Konchesky, jones and Meiriles.

Only one of the 6 players in has had any sort of impact.  And 3 of them at least will be top of the list to leave this summer.

I'm really not sure there is anything wrong with his attitude mate. He strikes me as a good pro who came in and said all the right things and he hasn't rocked the boat and whinged in the press despite not getting a look in under Kenny. It just a real shame it hasn't worked out.

It's a good comparison mate, big name player on a bosnan who has really struggled with injuries but at least with Kewell we did get a couple of spellls (his first 3-4 months and the season  we won the FA Cup) where he really looked the part. We haven't even seen a glimpse of Cole's beast form.

I think clearly he has not been able to get fit for whatever reason.

Whether it's some kind of injury or what I don't know, he clearly has some talent but his body doesn't seem to be able to do what the brain is asking.

Shame really, have always liked him and thought he would do well here. Thing is he has not made much noise under kenny about being frustrated on the bench and how he is chomping at the bit to shine under the kenny revolution.

This brings me to think that he is a lazy :censored: who is happy to sit on the bench for his 90k a week.

I think we should cut our losses and get his astronomical wages off the books. Deep down I just don't see him recapturing the form he had when he was at Chelsea, at the minute he can't force his way into the starting eleven and with quality additions in the summer he will be shoved further down the pecking order.

its a no win situation isn't it? if he throws his toys out of the pram, people like you will say he is being disrespectful to his team mates bla bla. or he should stop complaining and focus on getting fit.

after he scored the 5th goal yesterday, he could barely even smile or celebrate. obviously he wants to play and be more involved so to call him lazy to OTT. i've been backing him since he arrived and i'll continue to do so cause i know he will come good.

There was no celebration from both him or manager - he is on his way before we give him millions more in wages for a player who was finished 2 years ago

I said it was a signing which was wrong and everyone was clouded in terms of the excitement and jubilation which came with him arriving .

Joe Cole lost whatever he had when he had his serious knee injury - Chelsea knew it and didnt give him a new contract , the mancs knew it hence not going for him for a free - same with other clubs - we were the only stupid club to give him 90 grand a week on a 5 year deal !!!! more madness from Purslow .

Selling him for a million will be good enough .

those are merely assumptions until proven with relevant articles or comments that back up your statement. what are your sources?
