Yep, great performance from him today, top defending too!

good to finally see Glen playing like the player we signed a few seasons ago.

Played well again today.

His defensive ''frailties'' are so overexagerated its not even funny.

I was one of Johnsons biggest detractors earlier in the season ,and I was stinging with my criticism ..So its only fair that I applaud the Lad for his performance earlier ,and once again state how wrong my earlier judgement is now proving to be .......
Good game, and  looked  comfortable in the role

Best defenderr this season? Kelly didn't play all of it and just got injured so I think he is.  I'm happy for him his entire time here I've backed him, he still isn't at his best but he seems like he gets on really well with everyone and is genuinely a good bloke.  He has improved his consistency defending, I've always believed him to be a good defender and he's starting to prove that more and more since Kenny and Clarke came in.

Yeah, I think he has been one of our most consistent performers (not just defenders) over the season as a whole (I know he struggled early on, but who didn't?) One of the few who regularly created chances and I don't remember his defending being all that bad TBH.

I think he's playing better as a left back than as a right back to be honest... and that's including defending... maybe he should be our LB and Kelly our RB...

I have higher expectations than most on here. He is an England international with undoubted talent and ability.
I would like him to stop hiding and being a sh'ithouse and run at defenders, get down the line and put some serious crosses in.
At the moment, to me, hes not doing that at all. Needs to improve drastically or bon voyage.

Exactly! We all know what he is capable of doing and we all know what he is delivering. Our return on investment with this lad is very negative. If we get a good price for him i say sell and move on. His Mental fitness is questionable and we need some strong minded leaders espcially with the price we paid for him.

He used to do that before, last season we used to see him take on defenders and whip in some crosses. I remember the game he his first goal with us (I think it was stoke), he showed his physical approach and tenacity to go forward, run through the byline and cross the ball into the box.

I really do think playing at left back has some what limited his potential to do that.

Glen has improved tremendously after he has been switched to LB by Kenny. He is now more solid at defending and equally effective going forward. He should be our starting left back with Aurelio as back up. We also have youngsters like flanagan coming through. I feel that GJ is as good as any LB in the league on par with evra and Cole. I would therefore stick my neck out and say that we don't need to go into the market and buy another left back. Priority should be on the CB position.

Discuss. :)
