The Good Yank wrote:Hate to say it, but it has to be said.  If yesterday's performance is the start of a goalkeeper's version of a Torres like sulk, that was it.  I hope it's just a blip for him, but, Wow, Pepe was shocking.  Parker's goal could have been saved, Pepe took a bit too much for granted on it and Carra's reaction to it told the story.  yes the defending should have been a bit more aggresive on Parker, but Pepe was slow to react and didn't even shade towards the only side that Parker could have shot to.

One thing Reina doesn't do enough of IMO is contest crosses, therefore he is, in my eyes, about #4 on the culpability list for the second goal.  Carra was first, Wilson second , Skrtel third.  He comes in a tie for second for the third goal.  Skrtel made a great impression of a dead dog on the road and Carra just lacked the pace to contest the shot.

parker's goal can be considered as a toe-poke isnt it?
but i was really disappointed he was beaten at the near post for west ham 3rd goal by cole. effectively ended the fight back for us.

Carra was very worried about him during the game, so much so he forgot his own game. i was very close to the goal in the the first half (only place i could get) and Carra was trying to talk to Reina all the time but Reina tried not to look at him, as they walked off at half time Carra was going mad at him.
Carra was telling him to keep his eyes on the ball and to call when he was going to get it.......very basic things for a keeper to get right and stuff he should not need to be told he is not doing, very strange game from Reina but he has had a few of them this year.

the west ham fans are very sure we will buy Green in the summer.

He's not being hung Red, just saying he had a bad game, and to be fair, it's not the first bad game of the season for him  in the league this year.  I don't think I was overboard in my view of his performance yesterday.  Just simply saying I expect better from him.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Pepe or Green...    Pepe or Green?  hmmmmm tough one.  Well if we can't have Pepe I'd rather have Mrs.Higgins from the corner shop in net than Green. Last so called 'England' quality keeper we had was a plum.

I really don't rate Green.

i didnt think he looked any less dejected during yesterdays performance than he has been in many games already this season.
yeah the 3rd goal was sloppy and he shouldnt have got beat on his near post, but hey it happens and for the amount that he keeps out it can be looked on as a mistake and nothing more.skyrtel was more at fault imo.

i do think we will struggle to hold on to him after the summer especially if a big club puts up serious money and offers him champions league football.we have nothing to offer him other than maybe we might challenge for the top 4 next season depending on how we do in the summer transfer window and its nothing he hasnt heard before.
torres left citing the lack of quality and investment in the squad and so will pepe.the difference being he will do it in the summer giving us time to get a replacement.
with birmingham winning the league cup and should a team outside of the top 4 win the fa cup then there is a good chance we wont even make european footy next season unless we win it this year.

World cklass players want to play in the very best competitions.
When supporters take of their red tinted glasses maybe some understanding comes into play, though I doubt it.

Right now and inte future we can't offer that, maybe not even the europa league.
Rena is 28 soon 29, but supporters, just because of egotistical reasons demand that he stay, with no chance of trophies but at the same time declaring that he is indeed world class.

Is it so hard to understand that players careers are short and that it doesn't help them if the club won titles 5/10/20 years ago?

He'll be gone at the end of the season. The last Spanish player of his ilk.....he's not gonna hang around. I just hope Comolli and/or KK are doing their homework for a replacement

i have gone off him aswell mate. in truth i think if he had got out of west ham 3 years ago he would be a much better player now.

year green lol

the thing about keepers is that they can have a great day and look world class. take foster in the cup on sunday, if that was the first time you ever saw him you would be running after him trying to get him to play for your club.

another day he can look like he would not even get in a sunday team down the marsh.

Wouldnt be surprised if Barcelona came in for Reina. The way Pepe distributes the ball quickly and accurately to attacking players would give them yet another dimension moving forward. I think Reina is the best in the game at that and they have a mug in nets at the minute thats a cert.

He could be a future captain here, but if he wants to throw his toys of the pram like Torres then he knows where the door is. We are building something special again at LFC so he can either commit and be a part of it or fk off. One things for sure though, I dont want a last minute fk around with a week of the transfer window to go.

If the Torres thing has shown me 1 thing it's that words from players are as good as garbage. Not saying they are all the same but when it comes to talking like your kissing the badge ect they very rarely mean it, these days anyway. Like I said, stay or theres the door.

20 mill is good money for a keeper. Dont really want him to leave but if he really wants to then fine, nobody likes players who dont want to be at the club.

Anyway, heard that Thomas Kraft wouldnt sign a new contract with Bayern, he would be a decent replacement for Reina IMO.

Where does Akinfeev play now, is he still at CSKA? Ready made replacement, got time on his side too. There is always David De Jea too...
