Agree 100% about Nemeth and Pacheco. Might be a bit early for Susu but we won't know til we suck it and see.

I think it's ironic that many fans have stuck by, and claimed a player like Aurelio is good enough to keep hold of; yet are willing to drop Cole and the flick of a switch.

Had high hopes for him initially but has failed on just about every level I can think of. From his initial sending off to his injury woes. I'd say keep him until the end of the season. Give him a run out when we're 2 or 3 up and see if he can deliver. Failing that (which I think he will) ship him out at the end of the season. Even on a freebie!!

A failure like Kewell when you look at the whole picture.

Just injured all the time, overpaid and is never able to get a consistent run in the team. Even worse than Aqualani when you look at his production.

I doubl we can get rid even if we wanted because of his prohibitive wages.

i'd start him over maxi for a few games if i was the manager. maxi has offered next to nothing for weeks now and cole needs a run of games to get his confidence up.

If we are a club trying to get younger and move forward, we should let the likes of suso, Pacheco or others youngster to start as they will be with us for a longer time. Cole is.a lost cost. As the direction under jw, we should stick to the plan and let those youngster play as it will benefit the club in the long run. From what I had seen so far, the youngster did well and should be given the chance. We should just discount Cole and move forward.

Agreed. After a decent 1st half Maxi's form has dropped somewhat.

anything for cole, and get rid of maxi in the summer to, and i agree we need to play pacheco more, but i think suso is stil a little young even tho he is unbelievable id give him more time

Interim Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish insists Joe Cole will rediscover his form and prove to be a success at Anfield.

Cole made his first appearance under Dalglish in Thursday night's goalless draw away at Sparta Prague in the Europa League when replacing the injured Fabio Aurelio. But as has been the case throughout Cole's Liverpool career his touch was poor and he struggled to make an impression on the game.

Dalglish believes that he will see the best of Cole, who joined Liverpool on a free transfer last summer after being released by Premier League champions Chelsea, once he gets back to full fitness after struggling with hamstring and knee injuries.

The midfielder has started only 12 games all season for Liverpool as a player who was seen as a key capture ahead of the 2010-11 season has failed to live up to his billing.

"We have got to be patient with Joe. That his first run out since I came here,'' said Dalglish. "That is a great start for him, to get himself on the pitch and get an hour won't do him any harm.

"Joe is a valuable asset for us. Obviously he is not going to pick his form up immediately, if he does it will be a real bonus for us. But we are not going to put him under pressure and expect him to be the Joe Cole who came to Liverpool in the summer.

"We want to give him a bit of time and make sure he gets there. Form is temporary, class is permanent and that is where we stand with Joe. We'll give him a bit of time to get up to speed and then we'll judge him. Joe needs his injury rebuilding so we'll get that right first."

Thing about the whole "class is permenant form is temporary" comments is although i agree with them when your talking about a mid 20 year old who has had afew bad games for whatever reason. Cole has been on a downwards spiral for about 3 years now and hes 30, hes ijury prone now and he'll remain so until his career ends. Even if next season he turns it around and stays injury free well still oly get 2 years out of him at the most. That for me isnt worth turning down 5 million, stalling the progression of players like Pacheco Suso and Sterling and freeing an extra 100,000 a week i wages for a younger better player(s) that can get us back into the title race.

Same with Gerrard unfortunately, people might shoot me down for this but id take 35 million for Gerrard if an offer came along in the summer, yes hes improved on last season but not by much and hes also the wrong end of 30 and seems to be missing more and more games through injury. People might say hes to vital to Liverpool even now but we could replace him in the way we replaced Torres. Love him but no ones bigger then the club id much rather replace him with any 2 of Hazard Turan DeFour M'Villa, Kjaer etc.

Completely agree with the first paragraph mate hit all the right points. As for the other poster complaining of aurelio not being given the same negative treatment as cole, if that's the case then that's unfortunate as they are both injury prone, wrong side of 30 now which means they can either decline or plauteau not improve. They should both be tarred with the same brush but unfortunately they are still judged on their good days as opposed to the past year or so.

Somebody also said that it wouldn't sit well with j.w henry's philosophy of bringin youngsters in which is a spot on assertion.

As for gerrard, you're a brave brave man! You have to look at the other night what happens when you don't have gerrard driving the red juggarnaut, we just fall asleep behind the wheel. I wouldn't sell him for kelly brook and that's saying something from me!

Well would Liverpool be getting Kelly Brook or me? If it was the latter id pack his bags myself.

Thats the thing people imgaine the team without him like yesterday and think we couldnt possibly sell him but it would be a different situation becuase we would have either 1 or two top quality players coming in to replace him.

Hes the best player ive ever seen as a supporter, gets my vote over Fowler because he served us longer, but hes not that player anymore and i really believe the money wed get for him would be best for us in the long run.

Saying that id have no problems with him retiring with us in his mid 30s as hes earned the right to in my eyes.
