PEPE REINA - Official Thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Is it true Arsenal met his release clause in the summer but Pepe opted not to negotiate with them? I hope he stays but after what happened with Torres ill never trust any player who comes out talking like they are kissing the badge and all that. If he goes it will be his loss. LFC is on the rise again and he can choose to either be a part of that or fk off.

What annoys me the most is how the media are desperate for him to join the Mancs and replace VDS.  If anyone is writing these bloody clauses into contracts they should stipulate that it can't be to a domestic rival.

Yeah sure they'll probably brainwash Kenny as well and nick him along with Reina and change from a blue strip to a red strip.......(But I know Kenny is made of Sterner stuff)

I almost hate Chelsea as must as those filthy Mancs...

whatever, really don't care anymore, anyone who doesn't want to play for the club, who doesn't to wear the red shirt and wants to move for more trophies, can f*ck off for all I care.

Agree that Chelski look a sound bet to make a move for Reina in the summer.  that's the direction we should be looking in if we are worried about losing him and we fail to qualify for CL.  Don't think there's anything much in those interviews to be worried about in terms of the scum specifically being a threat.  All players talk about their ambition t play for trophies.  Personally, I think he'll stay after we've had the best second half to a season ever and with new top players on their way.  But you never know in football nowadays ... if he leaves, we take a whacking big fee (he's easily the best in the EPL now) and buy someone else.  We move on just as we've done so capably in the past month.  Our stock is rising under Kenny and anyone who doesn't want to be a part of it knows where the door is.  One caveat - we never sell to the Scum.  Never.  Never.

You know, I dont get these guys. They would rather go to a top club and win titles than to fight and earn their way to the top? I mean, we are capable of being a top club and compete in the CL there's no question about it. If we were fecking Fulham I would understand the player's wish to leave, but to rather leave the club and let it go down than playing for it and earning a top competition? For me those guys dont even love the sport, never mind their current club.

Perspective brothers and sisters!

Has he said he wants to leave? no.

has he asked for a transfer? No.

Has he said things that could just as equally be seen as an attempt to gee up his team mates to fight for that fourth spot? Yes..

This means feck all.

Yep, lets not focus on it, just adds fuel to the fire. Nothing to see here people
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

IMO, players should be told by the club to answer any questions that could cause speculation with something like "I am currently under contract with Liverpool etc etc".

If a player wants to leave they should only do so by handing in a transfer request.

The manager should consider dropping players who go mouthing off or even worse..the club should consider fining them.

I know it sounds harsh...but the unloyality is killing the game.  The players are in control and when they become unhappy they start trying to let the world know.

Maybe they wouldnt so often if there was consequences?
