In january window - Where do we strengthen?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

The Aquilani thing may well be dictated by finances and Kenny might not fancy bringing back a player who didn't have the best of times here. Don't get me wrong; I am a fan of Aquilani and would like to see him back but I don't think it will happen.

Also...I think he is at Juve until the end of the season and they have the option to keep him. He has also stated he wants to stay in Italy so that's that one put to bed.

Bring back Aquilani and Insua ...

We need one striker , 2 wingers and one DM ....

Don't think we can bring back Aqua, hes as good as gone.

He played well in juv now ... with SG will be 3 match ban ... this is the time that we bring him back ....hope KK knows that ...

Aquilani doesn't want to come back. And, as another poster said, i don't think we can bring him back. Juventus paid us a fee and (at a guess) i think that means he stays there under contract for the duration of the loan.

bbc (yes i know) think we are about to sell him

they also seem to think we have put 4 bids in for players yet no name have been stated as to who they are.

(not info from any mates lol, but from posts on other forums)

Any players from my own personal list in January would do 4 me. Although the lieks of Suarez, Coentrao, Cissokho and Wolfswinkel wouldnt upset me

As 4 the long run

In: Lukaku, Turan, Hazard, Chamberlain, Wickham, M'Vila, DeFour, Santon, Jones, Sakho

Out: Konchesky, Poulsen, Kuyt, Maxi, Jones, Ngog, Insua, Jovanovic, Cole, Skrtel, Soto, Spearing, Aurelio Darby, Lucas, Aquiliani (his choice)

Add Wisdom, Suso, Flanagan and Sterling to the 25-man squad

Liverpool Squad

GK Reina, Bouzanis
RB, Kelly, Flanagan
CD, Agger, Sakho, Jones, Wisdom, Ayala
LB, Santon, Wilson
RW Turan, Chamberlain
CM Miereles, M´Vila, DeFour, Shelvey
LW Hazard, Sterling
AM Gerrard, Pacheco, Suso
F Torres, Lukaku, Wickham:D

With the likes of Ngoo, Robinson and Ince being loaned out 2 Championship teams

Nice list there but Lukaku and Wickham are still very young so would be ones for a few years time. We need someone who can come in right now.

DeFour hasn't had the best of seasons but id still have him. Think he will end up going to the mancs though.

I know FSG have stressed importance on younger players but I think we need at least 1 marquee signing, a recognized international if you will.

is this your opinion for the january transfer window mate or the long term? the january window should be scrapped for me & imo the list you make sums it up for me!

the team needs fresh blood i agree, but the list of players you want to see go,what clubs would take any of them in the jan transfer window anyway-that's more to the point.

i for one fecking hate loan signings anyway, cause that hasn't been the clubs way in years gone by,only a few exceptions in past years & for me our priority if & if the owners give kenny money to spend in the jan window -all i'd like to see atmit, is a right winger-long term yes at least 4 new players, get rid of players who don't show the right kind of attidude & commitment, cause with kenny,i for one totally agree he will not stand for any player regardless of who they are not giving their all for the FC.

he will give players you mention mate a chance i'm sure (apart from konchesky) i hope!  :D  i have to laugh otherwise i'd cry at players like him even thinking they are worthy of wearing the famous red shirt. their are others like him also,so please don't get me wrong.

as for a new player in the transfer window-has swp been in the wildnerness to long to be considered for us-not sure me self,or what about ashley young? just 2 names to get a discussion going.

Nah its long term and just something i personally would like 2 see. But like i said any player we can get from my list in january would do 4 me even a suarez type player. I cant believe i forgot Babel aswell jesus hed the the first out 4 me.

I suppose if i was to priotirise (spelling?) then id go 4 Turan, Lukaku and Santon Sell Aqua,Konchesky and Poulsen

Turan because he would be a cheaper alterantive to Hazard, can play both wings, has more experiece and has stated his desire to play 4 us
Lukaku because i believe hes gonna be the best striker in the world when hes in his prime but he is more then good enough to partner Torres now. The guy has everything in his locker
Santon because he plays both RB and LB, is an absolute steal at under 10 million, can also play in an advanced role but the main reason is Konchesky and Aureilos made of glass.

theres a rumour in our house that if the likes of villa can offer 2.5mil for charlie adam we can hijack the player for a ridiculously cheap fee.

Wickham is but Lukaku's ready now, especially with nando next 2 him, who im convinced kenny will turn back the clock with him. I think DeFour has stated in the past his mind isnt made up and if come this summer he can see our fortunes changing, maybe  even with afew of his countymen in our squad and united even more in the :censored: financial then we could pip them.

Imagine a belguim trio: Hazard, Lukaku and DeFour  :buttrock

Theyve got Kompany aswell. What are they putting in the water over there?

Wouldnt mind him i think hed have a good influence in the dressing room especially on any youngsters we bring in. Would be a good short term investment. How is he only 2.5 million when Poulsen was over 5 million?

Proved hes good enough for the prem and being a fellow scot i could see Kenny bringing him in.

Well, we should know by now that yanks are more money driven than most.

I very much doubt we will see much action during this window at all. Maybe a small deal, not much else.

Banega, Sanchez, Mata, Santon, Suarez.

The owners say they want us winning trophies, these are the players required.

How bout Napoli Striker Cavani? Tall, strong and I'm impressed by the way he seems to be able to score from anywhere... wrong footing the keeper and placing the ball to the corner of the goal and such...

One question that we need to ask ourselves, instead of "Why aren't we spending any money" is what type of player is going to be available in January to a mid-table team?

Almost anyone that has been mentioned is playing Champions League football and is unlikely to give that up in mid-season.  Hazard has said he isn't open to a move until the summer and most likely anyone worthwhile is probably in a similar situation.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.
