He definitely look more at ease in most aspects of the game on Wednesday night. If you were an outsider and knew nothing about Liverpool FC then you'd have thought Wilson was the more experienced of the two on Wedsnesday night. Skrtel is a liability, an accident waiting to happen, his time is up IMO.

Kinell this lad gives me the frights sometimes.  That's two matches in a row now where he's let someone dance right past him in the box next to the goal line.  Owen wasn't able to set up a goal the way Hoilett did for Blackburn but it's not a position they should ever be allowed to get in.  (With that said, how Berbatov's inteference in the build-up didn't trigger the active offside rule I'll never know).

Maybe it was just me but I thought he was fantastic today, okay near the end he was very tired but all in all I thought he was our best defender. i lost count the amount of time he stopped a cross coming in from Evra or Giggs and he was very good in the air.

A big improvement in my eyes on previous performances

I actually thought he played better today with Agger alongside. Perhaps Wilson may be given a run at some point although we have no cup runs to blood him in now!!

Totally agree DD ...I thought Skrtel along with Kelly was superb earlier ...... Skrtel made plenty of last ditch tackles and blocks,  and I couldn't help comparing his performance with the type of commitment Henchoz used to give regularly to the team

i totally agree with you mate, but have to say fantastic is stretching it abit. however i thought he played his best game today for mounths. i thought his understanding with agger was good to see cause as in certain times during the game when agger went foward skrtel's posistional play was good & i thoght he made some vital tackles & interceptions.

yes he looked knackered towards the end of the game, but we were under pressure for the majority of the second half-he may have lacked concentration at the end but i thought his alround game was a fecking whole lot better than iv'e seen of him when he has had 'the greek' next to him.

i do agree though that skrtel is in the last chance saloon with kenny-so if he doesn't so consistancy in the very near future he will be shipped out.

Very good performance today.  Maybe Kenny can get him back to the form that he had in his first season.

Agree. Him and Agger were brilliant at the back. Potentially our future main pairing. They seem to compliment each other well, and if it weren't for those two, we'd have been tanked.

Brilliant?  I wouldn't go that far.  It was never a penalty but the fact remains that Agger let Berbatov get goalside initially and then took a little swipe at his ankles, which the Bulgarian made a complete meal of.  And he let Berbatov collect the same ball at least a couple of other times.  As for Skrtel, apart from the incident mentioned, where Owen nutmegged him, he did have a better game by his standards of late but those little lapses still concern me.

I'll agree, though, that both stood up to be counted when we went down to 10 men and did a good job of closing the door at the back.  I think they are going to be Kenny's defensive pairing (at least until Carra gets back, when it will be interesting tos ee what Kenny decides).  I did note with interest yesterday what Kenny said in his first interview.  He included both Skrtel and Agger in his list of top players, along with Stevie and Torres and GJ.  I think he's got a clear sense that they are his CB pairing and he was sending them a message.

Sktrel is a horrible player, an accident waiting happen. He just seems so brainless,he always chasing the ball when he is miles out of position and struggles to read aerial balls aswell. Add that to his general clumsiness and you have a recipe for disaster.

Agree can't afford a CB who is brainless hysterical and is hopeless in the air. Don't remember him scoring even once on a header.

I cant stop shi.tting me pants when he gets involved with play.

Liability this season and marks the man out of the game far too much instead of concentrating o nthe ball.

Got to be benched when Carra is fit.
