Add Warnock and Ireland to that list (both on the cheap) and job done!  :buttrock

Err no thanks, Ireland was a one season wonder and Warnock is nowhere near the level we are after.

Who wouldn't be better though? That doesn't prove Warnock would be good enough to meet our aspirations. And don't even get me started on Ireland :glare:

We should never have bought konchesky, but if we are happy with players like warnock we might as well get used to beeing a midtable club.

Bentley has me going "meh". That hasn't really got anything to do with me dismissing his abilities (which I actually don't know too much about I most admit) but more the fact that he's (namewise) the sort of player "classic midtable teams"* are being linked with. I know we haven't officially been linked with Bentley in particular but we are being linked with many players of his ilk, which kind of saddens me as we really need (and want) better players from the shelves further up. Of course our current predicament isn't really helping in that matter though and me might have to continue searching for players closer to the bargain basement :(

*I've used the term "classic midtable teams" here as I refuse to recognise that we are a midtable team even though our current position says so :;):

Its been reported that Liverpool are interested in signing Vedran Corluka from Tottenham (one that Comoli brought to Tottenham when he was there).

I think he is teh type of player we should be looking at.
Very decent player and i am surprised that Hutton keeps him out of the Spurs team.
Decent in the air, good on the ball and can play centre back as well.
Would definitely take Corluka.

Decent replacement for Johnson. FAR better defender.

Spurs reserve and I wouldnt do the deal for prides sake if nothing else. Do the people involved in these transfers not actually consider that there is an element of shame for this football when you go knocking on Spurs door and asking for their second or third choice right back? If not they should because mentally it gives them a boost that we are down there cap in hand for a ressie and crushing for us that it has come to this. Anyways hes not all that is he to be honest. Maybe its just me

would seriously love it if Liverpool got Porto's Jorge Fucile ...he can play either RB or LB and is equally accomplished in both positions
very talented defender ....also how about stealing a march on Spurs who seem to have dropped their guard over acquiring  this fella
Radamel Falcao
Incidentally before Redknapp  came sniffing Benitez had this lad earmarked for Liverpool Fc

Naturally. As with any good footballer in the world today.

I would also take Corluka by the way. He is not top notch but is a solid defender I feel, and he can do a job at CB too.
