disagree totally.
why did it have to be done through the press ?
It's happened at all 3 clubs so while i agree that he has a big ego, i dont agree that its a good thing.
There are better ways about going about things than the way he constantly has.
Its never been the Liverpool way but he will get away with it as it was at a time that we were run by the two gobsh!tes.
But like i said he appears to do that everywhere.
What manager gets all they want all of the time ?

You see ben , you've proved a point . The way alot of us are accused of jumping on roy for no reason by you and others . You very same people jumped on rafa for every single thing , like giving a reporter a cuppa . Rafa was subjected to this by alot of people on this forum week in and week out . Roy has had feck all in comparison and certain people who are acting hollier than thou need to remember this . What's the problem ben ?

i have no problem with you doing the same things regarding Roy.
I have even stated that and named you in a recent post Igor.
I dont have a problem. The reason i have mentioned the cup of tea is because i believe that it was done specifically to get on the news and in the papers.
Anyone could have gone out and took that tea.
Its fine that you think it was just a nice gesture, i personally feel that there was an ulterior motive.

When you manage a club sometimes you have to work with restraints.
And even if i am wrong and Rafa has picked the wrong club 3 out of 3 times, why does everything go through the press ?

It's also a fair point to make that those who are critising Benitez here are doing so when the man is doing nothing but good deeds for people. He donates money to charity - it's him being a kunt and manipulative. He gives his milkman a tip - it's a conspiracy. He offers a man a warm cup of tea in freezing weather - he's got an evil plan hatched.

If that's your understand of arrogance, fair enough, then Rafa is arrogant because that's effectively what he said after the World Club Cup final: that if he isn't supported by Moratti, then Inter will continue on the same path i.e. in other words, 7th is the best I can possibly do under the circumstances. this is what i mean about ridiculous exaggeration to try and emphasise a point.

I am not commenting on the donations and i dont even know what you mean about tipping the milk man.
But i didnt say he was hatching an evil plan taking tea out, i said he was putting himself in the media eye on purpose.

The thing is i think most of you know that as well.

Constraints is one thing. Knowing what's round the corner and being denied the means to avoid it is another. Had Benitez been backed by the previous Yanks, we wouldn't be in this mess, and we would almost certainly have a 19th league title or more by now. The man won two titles with an aged and weakened Valencia squad, yet he still wasn't backed there. Well within his rights to make his feelings public. He wasn't backed at us, and was constantly being undermind in the press and by the owners. He was lied to, plain and simple. He took the Inter job, and to be honest, no matter who took that job on, they were always going to be doomed to the same fate. He got them to the next stage of the CL. The side is adrift off the top of the table there, but they still had two games in hand which would put them within 7 points (assuming they won the games in hand). If the manager finds he needs cover for the injured side he's working with, then it's within his rights to feel the need to be backed seeing that he's new to the job. Hodgson seems to think so too.

From what I read, talks were planned. Rafa was in Liverpool when he got the jing. So, like his previous job, he got the news whilst on holiday.
