All this long term strategy and patience thing will wear very thin if we have a lousy xmas campaign and do nothing in January and NESV better understand that. Im sure Hodgson wont be happy either in fairness if hes not given some funds to at least try and save his own neck if thats possible. The new owners can attend meetings and draw up plans all day long but weve been suffering some right shyte for a while now and whilst their will is strong frankly ours is not. Its wits end for us lot and we need something to hold on to, a crumb of hope thrown our way in this window and I think they have to give us that in January or they may start feeling some flak coming their way as well.

its really difficult this because we clearly need investment to kick start our season.
But i dont think Roy should be given the money, i think he may sign an OK player, but he (Roy) wont be here long enough so whatever money is available i would give to whoever the next manager is.

I was the one reading that we're not looking at this '20 mil' player but settling for that '9 mil' player due to costs, there was ample opportunity for the thicko "durrr the transfer window hasnt opened" but guess what? Emaralds boyfriend waits for my post. :D

You never know though, Id be pretty chuffed if we got Hazard (20m), Nzogbia(9m), Cazorla(9-14), and another striker(feck knows).

Id rather have 4 players like that at that cost than one for 30m.  Sadly Joe Cole is on more than that new signing of the BRS, just wish hed play like I think he can.

No.

They can cook too

I was saying Rossi has been pretty disappointing, hes been outshone by Nilmar from a goalscoring standpoint and Santi from a creative standpoint. I have a soft spot for The Yellow Submarine so try to watch them as much as the TV schedule will allow. They have a guy on loan from West Brom, Borja Valero whos been playing superbly for them this season and they sit 3rd going into the winter break

well first off I don't want N'zogbia.

Secondly, right now is the time when players in the MLB have their "transfer window." The january window usually isn't the time when the best deals are made because teams are often desperate to buy players to fix a missing hole in their starting 11.  Like NESV has said, they are not looking at buffing up the squad in January like they will be in the summer.  They claimed to have made 35 million available in both January and the Summer.  This doesn't mean that they will spend 35 in January, it just means that if we can find the right players for the right price, we will have the financial backing to do so.

The Red Sox have been spending a lot of money, but I live in America and actually somewhat follow baseball.  There is a huge difference between the two.  For one, they say $142 million 7-year deal.  They base it all around the money the players make, not around what they players were bought for.  There is no loyalty in baseball as any player will play for any team as long as the get paid enough.  Boston are one of the most popular teams in the world and make a lot of money.

Now 142 at 7 years is about 20 million dollars a year.  If you look at Gerrard's salary, which is 120 pounds a week(?) not really sure but that's what I thought it was, then he earns 6.24 million POUNDS per year, which is equivalent to almost $10million.  So Gerrard earns half of what Crawford earns.

However, if you compare the status of the Boston Red Sox to football, you are looking at Real Madrid, Barcelona, manure, Chelsea and now (spending-wise) man city  Last I checked, Kolo Toure, who isn't even one of the best players in my opinion, was making 200k a week. That's 10.4 million per year, converted to over $16 dollars per year, only 4 less than Crawford.  Now Crawford was basically a free transfer, like I said no loyalty, so that means that Toure's 24million pound transfer, or  $37million is the difference.  37 divided by 7 is just over $5million, meaning that Kolo Toure, in my opinion not one of the best players in the world, costs more than Crawford, one of the best baseball players in the world.

Cristiano Ronaldo makes a bit more than Toure and his transfer fee was much higher. From what I understand, David Villa would also pass this amount, Wayne Rooney if he were sold and we all know he's :censored:, Frank Lampard is almost there as well.

If you look at how much money a good premier league player would cost for their transfer fee and for their salary for the next 7 years AT THE NEW CLUB (Referring to the fact that the following players would most likely transfer to Real Madrid, Barca, Chelsea, Man City etc.) than:
Torres
Dzeko
Schweinsteiger
Sneijder
Milito
Half the Barca Squad,

any many more, would all cost more than Crawford costed the Red Sox.
DESPITE THE FACT I LIVE IN CALIFORNIA...
