He may have been praising the lad and trying to motivate him behind the scenes to no avail and this could be another approach ?
Who knows.
What i would say is lets see whether we see anything better from Glen before saying that the manager has done something wrong because if his form picks up then we will be wrong.
Not every player reacts to the same approach when out of form.
Of course if Glen plays even worse then we can blame Roy and call him all the cnts under the sun

Is he right to air them publicly? Absolutely not.

That's the way to make a point and be respectful;call people stupid.
By the way,the reverse would be challenging him to play worse then he currently is.Not telling him he isand needs to play better. That just plain psychology.

Ciggy wrote:In fact, one's been supported so much he was allowed to pick his own position in the team and was told before an important knock out game that if a penalty arose, he should take it so he could get his first goal for the club and ingratiate himself to the Kop/supporters. Both these things were given to the lad despite the fact that he'd never played in the hole or taken a penalty since he was 13 years of age.
