Exactly. All of a sudden the players are playing well again yet some think it is because Roy has finally got a handle on things.

Dead man walking! I think the future is brighter for the club than Roy.

So when we where playing cak it was Roys fault, now we are improving its the down to the owners, IF we start playing brilliant I'm sure it will be down to the players...

Yes - Lets get rid of Roy no matter what we play like.... ???

Embarrassing!
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Biggest load of nonesense there Lakes.

When we were flying high in europe Pepe wasnt no 1. There is no way on gods green earth that spain would drop Real's No 1.

Iker is world class too lets not forget here. Pepe just finds himself as the joint best keeper in the world. So happens that the other one is of same nationality and plays for the kings team.

Lazy journalism there Nanny me thinks. Its upsetting them that the club is going on a even keel. going back to the Liverpool way. They are stirring :censored: up thats not there. I mean a gentlemans agreement in modern football? They're clueless.

Pepe and Fernando will be here next year and we will have great progress. Im starting to feel that maybe 4th could be attainable, not a given as some suggest. Spurs cant seem to compete in CL and prem consistently. Citeh are doing a Citeh. I really think Mancini will get the bullet.

That means if roy uses the kids and fringe players in europa then our big players, injuries permitting, wwill be fresh to compete in the prem.

We must continue to be positive in our play. A win at Wigan will show that we are improving on the road. If we get to Jan with us being in the mix for 4th then a few signings could cement that. A wide man on the left and a striker will do for now.

Here's praying. In Roy we trust :p

Personally I think a win a Wigan will scare the héll out of the rest of the PL.  Vital game, will send a very big message that we're back.

Agreed, 4 wins on the bounce would make the other teams in the league sit up and take notice.
Lets hope the intensity and desire that we have seen in the second half against Napoli and the Chelsea game continues into the Wigan game tomorrow night.

 Mate let it go, just try and let it go.

I thought he said that himself though didn't he?

Anyway John Henry needs to nip this in the bud, if there is indeed any truth in him wanting to leave in the first place. He just signed a new contract this year so if he did want to leave it wouldn't be on the cheap. What's this secret clause nonsense?

I hear Buffon could be on his way out so hopefully the mancs will turn to him. Can't see Arsenal splashing out.

Must be a slow news day today. This Reina talk is like a broken record.

Why the hell would Reina accept having a release clause in his contract anyway? If a player genuinely wants to go, he goes end of. Just look at Mascherano for example.

Liverpool Echo (9/11/2010

PEPE REINA today raised fresh doubt about his Anfield future after admitting he could not guarantee he will stay at the club beyond the end of this season.

Liverpool’s iconic goalkeeper signed a six-year deal in April but that has not stopped a number of clubs – most notably Arsenal – coveting him.

It is no secret Reina had become disillusioned with life under the previous ownership regime and he, perhaps, was the most vocal of the squad in criticising Tom Hicks and George Gillett.

Arsenal’s attempts to sign Reina in July led to a clause being inserted in his contract that would allow him to leave Anfield if the club received offers of more than £20m.

Reina won the European Super Cup, FA Cup and Community Shield in his first year with Liverpool but is frustrated that he has not added to that haul in the time since.

“Rafael Benitez was an essential person for this club and the reason I came to Liverpool,” said Reina, who arrived from Villarreal in 2005.

“I signed a six-year deal seven months ago and I’m happy at the club, but every footballer wants to be competing for trophies and winning things.

“I will stay at Liverpool at least until the end of the season.

"I know there are rumours about me leaving but I want to make it clear that I have no intention of going back to Spain.”

That will set alarm bells ringing among supporters who idolise Reina, a four time winner of the Premier League’s Golden Glove award.

However, New England Sports Ventures are well aware of Reina’s value to the club and John W Henry has spoken with several senior players – including him and Fernando Torres – about future plans.

Further more, boss Roy Hodgson told the ECHO late last month just how highly he values Reina – and that he would not want to lose him.

“Pepe is fantastic here, he is a lifeblood of this team,” said Hodgson. “Everything he does around the club is excellent,

“He is always lively in the dressing room, he is always first class in training and he always wants to do more to improve.

“He demands better from those around him, he is always pushing people on. He is a player who we hold in the highest esteem.

“We do not want to sell him. I would like to think that we are going to become a successful club once again and Pepe is crucial to that.

“We want to promise the players we have got here that we are going to be up there fighting once again and we are absolutely not looking to sell any of our better players.”

Definitely cant afford to lose a player of this importance ....we searched for a long time before we got the real deal as far as keepers were concerned ... the club should fight tooth and nail to fend of all impending offers ... and give the lad some assurances

One of the best keepers in world football, and the best I have ever seen in a Liverpool shirt.

He's given us years of good service and if the new owners don't match his ambitions I won't hold it against him if he wants a new challenge.

He could possibly set a new world record transfer fee for a keeper if he does go, especially with his age and number of years left on his contract.
