Good on him, I'm still yet to be convinced he has the tactics to beat out the cream of the crop though.  We'll see how we fare against Chelsea, after that match I am certainly looking forward to it though.

Shelvey was absolutely terrible, but young players do that. I don't rate him anywhere near as highly as most on here (I don't think he'll make it at Liverpool to be honest), but you can't judge kids on one performance. Spearing was World Class (kind of) in one of the matches, but he was just his usual self tonight.

Fair do's but I don't have the same expectation from Spearing as I do of Shelvey

Bingo

And why would no top manager touch us Dawson - Because of the owners and the financial situation .

A major reason why i wanted Rafa to stay and to get rid of owners first and foremost and then look at the manager situation .

Instead money men decided to spend 9 million pounds on downgrading the football management of the club .

It was IMO a monumental mistake during the summer .

You do confuse me. Honestly you do
First you say this:
"That question was asked many times last season and below is the list of manager people said would JUMP at the chance to manage us

Mourinho
Hiddink
Cappello
Redknapp
Moyes
Lippi
Pellegrini

It was always the same answer Thommo - Top managers would jump at the chance of managing such an illustrious club"

Then you give the above answer which clearly states that NO top manager would touch us.
They would jump at the chance/they wouldnt touch us? Which is it?

You need to read it again- i said PEOPLE said a manager would jump at the chance to manage us where as I myself thought that no top manager would come and manager us.

Like I've said a few times, IMHO before Xmas we will be in and around the top six or seven. Given that's where we finished last season, I'm wondering how people will justify calling Roy a sh!t manager.

:Oo:

And in a scale out of 1 to 10 how important is that to you Mick

Anway well in Roy and the team

Good on you for playing the youngsters

PEOPLE can say anything. It doesnt make it correct does it?
My point was that Hodsgon had the balls to step up and take the job that others feared.
I'm glad you agree with me

well got to say that Roy got it spot on tonight, tried a team out in thefirst half and did not work, made a sub at half time  and we winthe 2nd half 3-0.

shame some of the oher players (ngog) could not hit the target, but apart from that we looked great in he 2nd half.

well done lads....er yer has to be said well done Roy.

With Henry in the stands he took a risk with his team selection but it paid off. You could see he was on pins all night, pacing about, ranting and raving. When the pen was awarded the colour literally drained from him. He was and still under pressure from fans and new gaffers but he hasnt bottled it and continues to stick to his guns and try and consider the club in the longer term. He could easily have put a full side out for his own ends. Fair play to him for not going that road and giving youth a chance.

His team selection was a disaster, but credit to him for bringing on Gerrard in the second half.  I've got to say that without him we looked absolutely average, which is really worrying.  We really need some creative players in our team.  I hope those A Young rumors are true.
