I think we still have the one from our last  league win...

:lookaround

Cheeky c...  :D

Seriously though, we all know in out heart of hearts that there's no doubt going to be some really good excuses to get all depressed around the corner. Who knows what might happen, we could get beat 6 zip by Arsenal in the first game for all we know. Anyway, like I say there'll be plenty of opportunity for everyone to get all doom and gloom again, but in the meantime we might as well get on the happy bus and enjoy it  :buttrock

I must say I haven't enjoyed a pre season as much as this in years, (mind you it's probably because we haven't actually played yet ).

And, as a 100% pro Roy fan, I'm in a no lose situation. If we win, I'm going to say Roy's a genius. If we lose, I'm going to blame it the owners and Purslow :buttrock

Sick of this , when yer try to move on .Some smart@rse always always tries there best to keep the split stoked . FFS I've feckin tried here to not say a friggin thing about the owners or the directors . So go look in all the threads that are currently running with recent posts and everyone has got a post in it from someone who was moaning about the ownership situation getting rammed down there throats. What do we get , oh well i'll just blame the owners or purslow or figgin Rafa . I get accused of ruining threads and it's not even me bringing the subject up . If you don't want threads ruined ,well leave the smart@rse sarcky comments out , cos i swear you will be getting it back with both barrels . Friggin practice what you preach .

Igor I agree with your sentiments and you haven't ruined threads IMO. Some of your, and I'm sorry to say this, clique have though and by and large many posters who offered their opinons about Rafa and the board in years gone by, were abused for not jumping on their bandwagon. Especially concerning Rafa and his football, the people who had misgivings about him which stretches back a few years were always told 'how s.*i*e a fan they were' etc etc. It went on for years, now a new manager is in and these fans are happy about it and considering the s.hit they have had to put up with for years on here are probably getting their own back and feel justified in doing so. It's tedious I know but then so is analysing Roy's credentials as a manager by going on holiday to Wales. The scaremongering and some of the propaganda that has been continuously posted on here has been frankly f.ucking pathetic.

thanks for clearing that one up, benny

Sorry was that too positive ? I supposed i could of said that Gerrard really didn't have anywhere to go cause people wouldn't pay 30 mil for a 30 year old - as Fairclough said on LFC - Gerrard is too good to go for less than 30 mil but is too old for clubs to pay 30 mil . Either way he is staying and it's good to see - let's see him have a better season than last year which was disrupted by injuries

That's better Benny!
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years 21/22 to 25/26  (10 years
are in brackets 16/17 to 25/26 )
LFC €490m (€650m)
Everton +€15m (€290m)
Arsenal €770m (€1107m)
Spurs €665m (€892m)
Chelsea €740m (€1045m)
Man City €460m (€1095m)
Man United €780m (€1340m)

We could borrow one from the bitters across the park, no wait, I expect their's is horse drawn and the horses died yonks ago :D

Good news Gerrard is staying? I've mixed feelings. He clearly isn't the happiest of bunnies, the few highs struggling to keep him going. I agree with sentiments that he is too IMPORTANT TO us to sell for less than £30m, too old for clubs to be that willing to part with £30m for him - except maybe citeh. I don't doubt he will have great games for us, but enough match winning performances? I feel some players' presence in a side can leave the rest of the XI depending too much of that one superstar like Beckham in an England shirt. Maybe the TEAM will function better without the rest keep looking to one or two players to pull the side out of the mire.

Sound then , i'll keep it going . If they can't move  on i won't either . Roy is not an issue and never has been regarding the owners . As suporters we back our manager whoever he is . It was never about Rafa ot Roy it was always and is always about the owners and directors.

Mate without getting into an argument it WAS at times about Rafa though. We were told on more than one occasion that Rafa is the only man holding the club together. That's patently bollox but people would have you believe it were gospel. If you didn't agree you were shot down in flames Igor.
For all our poor signings the blame was directed elsewhere, like Parry signed Keane.

You know what lash, I'm not going to go on anymore because I don't want a ban. I simply want to come on and have a little banter and discuss the footie in the appropriate thread. If I want to vent my anger about the board, I'll do that in the appropriate thread to.

But, the reason I don't spount vitriol all the time in the H&G thread is because not one of us knows the semantics of the situation. We know the broader side of things, but it does get tedious calling H&G c.... all the time and wallowing like a pig in s.hit is not ideally how I'd like to spend the majority of the time on these boards. I don't want to read the speculation about the semantics, Purslow did this the tea lady did that because the people who make out they're ITK simply aren't. Instead they go around scaremongering every other fan on here. I back and support SOS and what they do, I understand what is generally happening at the board level inside the club. But frankly you and everyone else on here knows about as much as me on the runnings of the club which quite frankly is not enough to go screeming blue murder all the time.

Yet, when I watch a football match I think I'm pretty much ITK on how the game is played therefore because I can see the thing unfolding in front of my eyes, I'm willing to dig deep and discuss the game, where as at board level I don't have enough knowledge to back or disagree with the speculation our resident ITK's preach.

Now I know, I will probably be accused as though I'm not a real fan but nobody on here knows anymore than I do really about the intricacies and workings of the club. Therefore, I'm not willing to make myself look like some expert Sally on the matter to be told ten minutes later that we've signed J.COLE on a 90,000 a week contract after proclaiming the new manager isn't getting anymore money.

I know mate i was only joshin with yer . I disagree with you a fair bit on your post ,but i understand where you are coming from . I see our job as supporters is to back the manger ,whomever he is . Last season that didn't happen , hopefully this season it will . I was gutted with rafa's sacking and i was diappointed with Roy's employement ,but that is all in the past now . I've moved on and so should everyone else . I will not stop banging the drum about the owners though , but in the correct threads.

Looks like someone made some kind of a bid for him

Hodgson remarked: "Steven wanted time to consider a possible option that he had but I was always optimistic that he would stay with Liverpool because he's the heart and soul of Liverpool and it would have been a major blow to lose him."
