every pic i've seen of him is in a No.10 kit and acording to the official site thats Jovanovic's.
after smicer, kewell and keane. i think we should just retire it before it jinxes anyone else.

He has the No7 shirt mate , they just wear any old numbers in pre season . Means nothing .

If you compare this: Kuyt Gerrard Masherano Riera to this: Kuyt Lucas Masherano Benayoun
Cole Gerrard
Torres Torres
You can see what a huge difference one new player and a new manager could make. To me the first line up has balance (particularly with Johnson playing in behind Kuyt), creativity and goals from midfield. Riera I've put on the left because I think it's vital for balance that you have left footed players in the team. In the first version, the dreaded Lucas/Masherano axis has been broken up, and you only have to look at the stats of how that worked last season to see it was a disaster from start to finish. If Masherano does go (which I think he will, I even hope he does TBH) then Lucas could very ably play alongside Gerrard, or een Aquilani if we really ask Gerrard to sit in (which he definately could, and probably will do before too much longer).
One signing can change the whole complexion of the way the team sets up. Which one of those front sixes above do you reckon Arsenal would rather play against in game one? To me it's an absolute no brainer.
I agree (mostly) with what you said. I too, am excited to see how Cole changes the balance of our team. Basically the arrival of Cole means that Gerrard should be play CM and we are free of the Masch/Lucas partnership. I think that we will be a much better team with Gerrard playing box to box, and supporting our attack by arriving late.
Reina
Carra Agger
Johnson Left-back
Gerrard Masch
Cole
Kuyt Jovanovic
Torres
The thing that excites me is that this formation can easily change to a 4-4-2 by Cole taking over either wing and pushing either Kuyt or Jovanovic to play as a striker. This sort of play will get the best out of Kuyt/Jovanovic.
In fact, this is the first time for as long as I care to remember that we have no players playing out of position.
Balance!

the list reads:
- Stan Collymore
- Paul Ince
- Harry Kewell
- Robbie Keane
- Joe Cole

I posted photos of both wearing number 10...
