Let's see how the season pans out before you start counting your chickens and the old " I told you so " routine . A ball still not been kicked yet . So while we have made some positives steps forward there is a long way to go yet

If us forumites are relishing the prospect of new beginnings under Roy, you can be sure Gerrard is too. You get the sense that with the league not looking so clearly defined as it once was that we might be able to surprise a few people this season, and he of all people at the club wouldn't to miss out on that. The manager's been making all the right noises about how he wants to manage the team and he's backed up with the signing of Cole, already a teammate of his, and a player with the kind of qualities LFC has been short of for a while. Then there's Jovanovic, all the promising youngsters who are coming of age - Pacheco, Shelvey, Dallavalle, Wilson, plus a host of first teamers who have a point to prove, not least Gerrard himself. We're a team with a point to prove

The next couple of weeks are going ton e interesting - City has spent real big and look a massive threat to the title - so far Chelsea and the Mancs haven't splashed out but it seems they are looking at players who did well in WC and Arsenal will be decent once again . Once all the teams have made their buys the picture will be a lot clearer . We really need that striker and left back
