Get Figueroa, at LB then keep Masch then this is a cracking looking 1st team

             Reina

Johnson   Carra   Agger   Figueroa

               Masch

Kuyt         Gerrard        Cole

               Jovanovic

                 Torres

Yes, I love this formation, Cole should be playing in the hole, Gerrard in the midfield. Too bad Mach is on his way out imao.

Brilliant news... Chelsea get Benni for 6m and we get Joe Cole for free...

:buttrock

Versatile player, would defo add the alot of quality in midfield and can be a brilliant player for us provided he keeps fit every time

Good news indeed...

Now it becomes interesting who's gonna play in the middle and who's gonna play wide and whether we go with 2 strikers or 1 striker...

I would still go with 2 strikers... I don't think cole will bring that many goals... what he will bring is the odd important goal like Luis garcia...

This means that out of Mascherano, Lucas, Gerrard and Aquilani, 2 have to be on the bench...

I would go with Gerrard and Aquilani... It's about time Gerrard re-invents himself as a proper CM... I think he needs it to prolong his career...

Some anal glaswegian on SSN just said he came for the money! Not sure that's right when hes took £30k less a week than he wanted at Chelsea.

great stuff - well done Roy.

How about Cole on the right side and give Babbel a season on the left to prove himself?

I hope to god this isn't the mirror situation of Kewell - big clubs after him and we sneak in and sign him only to be let down by injuries - Cole has a long way to go to earn his 90 grand a week but it's a positive step forward - just need a left back or two plus a striker and cb now .

Im pretty sure the massive wage 90 grand a week would of been a very big pull to the player .

Cole isnt as injury prone as people think to be fair.

02/03 - 40 games
03/04 - 50 games
04/05 - 46 games
05/06 - 48 games
06/07 - 24 games
07/08 - 49 games
08/09 - 20 games
09/10 - 29 games

Only two season's there were he had two serious injuries, the rest of them he played a lot of games.

And before someone mentions the 09/10 season, he wasnt injured for most of it, Chelsea just didnt play him.
