4th is only just slightly more likely than us winning the EDL. The 'good news' is the bitters can't overtake us now, four points behind and one game left. I'm sure smeegel and his bitterbluenoses will all go on about how they've done well on no money and with injuries when they are around where they should be if you were to rank the league in terms of squad cost. A villa fan texted into s*y teletext saying MON wouldn't take a step down coming here, well he's taken villa as far as he can. Funny how he finished eighth with Leicester and a lot less spending, now with a lot more spending he's temporarily reached the dizzy heights of sixth - I need to sit down that's such a fantastic non-achievement.

4. Tottenham P36 PTS 67 (GD +27)
5. Man City P36 PTS 66 (GD +29)
6. A Villa P37 PTS 64 (GD +14)
7. Liverpool P36 PTS 62 (GD +28)
8. Everton P37 PTS 58 (GD +10)

- villa are out of it, spudz play citeh and if either team wins villa can't catch them and a draw would mean they can't catch sputdz.

- a draw will give spudz the advantage, Burnley away their last game. citeh need to beat spudz to wrest that advantage away from them

- Liverpool can still finish on 68 points, the only result midweek that will see us able to finish fourth is a draw, but then spudz have Burnley and citeh play West Ham so they would both need to drop points which in spudz' case I can't see happening - that is if we win today.

So we would need spudz to draw midweek (any other result puts fourth out of our reach) and lose to Burnley, I think bookies would offer you similar odds on us winning the Euro Disney League

Well spudz put everyone out of their misery over this particular question, probably a relief to the s*y team who have been having a w'ankfest over the title race and didn't like having to mention other football was happening. So our defeat to Chelsea was inconsequential, good news as not only did losing not impact us, but we also screwed over the mancs by losing.

Those who called for the option of "higher than fourth" may note spudz have a slim chance of fourth, what happens when a team signs good attacking players and has a decent manager. People claim Woy Hodgson deserves manager of the season, I note they lost AGAIN last night to a Stoke side with a better away record than them but a lot less praise, yet 'arry has beaten off experienced campaigners (us) and moneybags (citeh) as well as villa. Yet of the managers of the various clubs mentioned (bar Stoke) he would be least likely to get credit. We rant about MON, we praise Woy, even Mancini would get credit for wins in Serie A, but Redknapp is almost regarded like his namesake in St Trinians. If only we had half the players coming through that did and to some degree still do at West Ham..................

Best result really as it has prevented a CL transfer indulgence by City. I think it is key to have at least a £30m budget, without sales, next season. We all know we aren't going to get outside investment in time for the start of next season therefore we need to strengthen with 1-2 world class players. Maybe a £30m joint bid for both Villa and Silva would sit well with Valencia assuming SPain have a sh!t World Cup

Fairly astounding performance from Redknapp and Tottenham in fairness to them. Eighteen months ago under the babyfood bloke they were languishing at the bottom of the league with two points from eight matches. We meanwhile were top of the league, and everything was going along quite nicely.

Who would have thought that not only would we go into freefall and nosedive into seventh, but they would catapult themselves up from the foot of the table into a position where they not only are ahead of us in the league, but appear to have more quality in depth as well. Our own Peter Crouch got the vital goal as well, who would have thought it. Harry Redknapp? Fecking joke of a manager.
