Liverpool vs Villa - Sat 24th Aug 17:30 Sky sports 1

Liverpool Football Club - Games

We could do with another win to make two wins + a good start to the season. We showed enough v Stoke to suggest we will create half a dozen chances at least in this game. Just hope they dont fall to Hendo again!! :)
Benteke, the danger man. Hope Agger uses his feet and not tries to save the ball this time in the box :)

Who starts Allen or Henderson? Allen was making impressive runs into the box during the pre season games and looked a better player since his shoulder operation. Hendo however looked good against Stoke. Not sure which way BR will go.

Im not a fan of his but Henderson deserves to keep his place today, especially as its away game where his energy will be required, i dont think a game like Villa away will suit Joe Allens style, i think if he is gonna gonna come in to the team it should be in a home game.

Henderson adds a bit of balance and energy to the side . Put him down the right flank again and give Aspas and Coutinho that extra bit of freedom further up.

Henderson has to start this one as well IMO.

I think Villa will be easier to break down than Stoke. Unlike with Stoke, this game will be much more suited for Aspas and Countinho, so Villa will have troubles stopping them. However, we'll probably have problems stopping their attacks as well. Benteke just doesn't miss and Agbonlahor is everywhere. Their link up play is very good as well, so I hope that our back four along with Lucas will be ready for them.

I expect an open game, 3-2 for us  :nod

our passing and ball retention will be tested today, villa are quite a young side and they have a lot of energy, they like to press and harry teams into mistakes then hit them on the break. they`ll no doubt look at us as quite a small side that can be roughed up and i expect them to be all over us like a rash early on.
but if our passing game is on song and we can get them chasing shadows they`ll soon run out of steam.

Seems like our lack of pace may mean we need to play our CBs deeper. If Benteke gets the ball at his feet and gets equal with or past our CBs, that's it. If we get to face him when he's not moving, his strength won't been as much of a factor.

This game really will come down to us finishing our chances, and taking care of Benteke. However, like somebody mentioned earlier we really need to keep an eye on Agbonglohar. All the attention on Benteke could be just what he needs.

I've got a nervous feeling about this game.  In a good way.  This is a very big game for us.  Win and we've got 6 points on the board with the Mancs next.  An away game after all the Willian ***** might just be what we need.  We know the away support will always be there.  I like the look of the starting XI.

Got a positive feeling about this one.

BTW for anyone in the States this game is on NBC  No cable wires needed, granted can't get HD that way.  I've actually got an old school TV with rabbit ears set up by the pool.  But I'll watch the first half inside.  Gorgeous day here 80 and not a cloud in the sky.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

hopefully we can keep up the free scoring away from home and kill this off early, we will have plenty of chances so we just need to tighten up against a counter and set pieces and the points are ours.
3.0 to us
come on the pool  :buttrock
