As much as Pacheco's introduction had a great impact, I would say man of the match has to be Glen Johnson. Always a threat even though it didn't always work out for him.

I agree Johnson for MOTM

if Johnson can build up some conifdence again, he'll be back to the top of his game.  A poor 2nd half of last season, and a bad world cup have knocked him a bit. Hopefully he'll get some space against West brom to build on his form.

He seems better in defense in the few games we've played,  but what was nice about his game tonight was how smooth he went past defenders.  He doesn't panic in tight spaces like most players do.

Liverpool's Dirk Kuyt: "A lot of people have said a lot of things about my future, but for me it is at Liverpool. I like it here at the club and I want to stay here and win things." Well, there's a turn up for the books. Start playing then lad! (well, he did improve)

Liverpool's Jamie Carragher: "It was very tough, they are a very good side. They made a great start, but we showed great character and concentration in a difficult atmosphere and it's a very good result."

Very good side? :D :D :D

don't be fooled - these were a very good team.  considering we were far from full strength, i think, in the end, we did well and showed a lot of character.  i won't lie to ya.  i couldn't give a tinker's p*ss for the europa league.  it brings in no money worth speaking of.  it has very limited prestige (tell me who won it two years ago?).  i want lfc to win everything they are entered in but i wouldn't have cried long about going out of this comp.  19 games to get to the final - do me a favour.  with our squad, we'd be dead in the league with that kind of itinerary, sodding off to the ars* end of nowhere every few weeks ...good result.  wish it had been monday night.  still, well played lads.  well done roy.  on to west brom and building some momentum and confidence.  it's going to be very tough this year but expect a couple of decent signings in the next few days and some improved confidence as the team learns a new way of playing.
