I’d guess that Carvalho’s problem is he didn’t take well to not playing and his relationship with Klopp has now soured.

Carvalho is getting no minutes over there. Best all round would be to exercise the option to recall him in January, sell him on, with either a buy-back clause, or a % of future transfer fees.
I think he burned his bridges with Klopp. The least we should do is recoup some of the outlay now and in future.
