Liverpool vs Swansea - 8.00pm - Wednesday 31st October

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby Eagle » Tue Oct 30, 2012 5:39 pm

Liverpool continue their defence of the League Cup with an Anfield clash against Swansea City on Wednesday. The Reds welcome the Welsh side to L4 for the fourth-round tie as Brendan Rodgers faces his former club for the first time since moving to Merseyside.

I really hope we continue with mass rotation for this competition. Last season Lucus was out for 6 months due to an injury picked up in this competition and I’d hate for something like that to happen again. Asking players to play 3 games in 6 days increases the risk of injury.

We’ll hopefully see a good passing game and some of our fringe players impressing. I’d like to see something like this with one eye on the premier league game against Newcastle on Sunday.

                           Jones

Flanagan     Coates     Carragher     Robinson

                   Hendo     Shelvey
                         Pacheco

     Downing                            Assaidi
                            Yesil

Subs: Morgan, Suso, Cole, Coady, Enrique, Wilson, Gulacsi

It's got to be a better team than that I think:

                           Jones

Wisdom     Coates     Agger     Enrique

              Henderson    Sahin
                        Shelvey

Downing                                 Assaidi
                         Yesil

Subs: Gulacsi, Robinson, Carragher, Allen, Suso, Sterling, Suarez

I'd rather Agger didn't play, but with Jones, Coates and Cara in the side there would be no hope at all of us building from the back, we'll be hitting it long every chance we get.

I can see the 3 lads who came off v Everton starting in Sahin Suso and Wisdom. Hoping Assaidi gets a chance along with Coates and Henderson. Rest Suarez give pacheco or Yesil a go.

                 Jones
Wisdom Carra Coates Enrique

            Sahin   Henderson
                 Shelvey

Suso                                Assaidi
             Yesil/Pacheco

Confident we will win.

Carra is nailed on I think.  Not playing must be doing his head in so I think he'll captain the side tonight.

               Jones

Wisdom  Carra  Coates  Enrique

         Henderson  Shelvey
                   Cole

Downing               Assaidi
             Pacheco

Cole needs games to encourage teams to buy him!

It seems pretty daft to me to press the ball high upfield and then keep the defence in a deep line..

And why on earth is Henderson playing at RB when we have several young defenders out there...and he can do a pretty much better job at CM than Col who is a waste of space...
Floyd stepped left and threw the hook that caught Hatton flush under the chin. Finally, the British champ had arrived in that mythical place of which his fans speak: Hatton Wonderland.
