I think we need Aurelio at LB.  Would be great if Kelly was fit so he could play RB and not Carra

                                 Reina
Kelly            Carra                    Agger        Aurelio
                     Lucas                 Gerrard
  Kuyt                          Aquilani                    Yossi
                                 Torres

Cavalieri, SKrtel, Insua, Spearing, N'Gog, Pacheco, Babel/Maxi :D

mm yes I agree, although Gerrard would perform a bit better if switched with Aquilani.

1-1 , Keane and Lucas for us

We'd get tw*tted in central midfield with that lineup.

I quite fancy us against huddlestone and palacios

But, if we couldn't put Reading away, I can't see us doing an on-form Spurs, that's for sure.

A lucky knock in? Torres' goal a "lucky knock in"!?! Are you high?

Noboy's listening to you fatman.

It was a lucky goal from a mix up in the box from Spurs. It fell to Torres' feet.

He had a little bit of work to do, but it was still very fortunate nonetheless.

A little bit of work to do? From a fairly tight angle and so late in the game - in such an important fixture - while not being at full fitness having barely had a sniff all game. I think the guy deserves a bit more credit for tucking that one away.

If you look at the build up, the ball was planned to drop for him initially. After Kuyt passed it up front, Benayoun's knick was a little bit too much but if you look at his slide, he was trying to pass it to Gerrard and Gerrard had already seen Torres so had the ball fallen to Gerrard, he would've still pushed it to Torres in the exact same position.

Got to agree with that. It was a chain of fortunate events that ensured the ball arrived at Torres's feet, but that's not really his problem. It wasn't passed to him, it ricoched out of a tackle, no doubt with spin and inertia on the ball. The weather was sh!t and the pitch was greasy which caused it to skid into him, and he couldn't have been expecting it.

From there, he has to get his left leg out of the path of the ball in order to allow it to pass accross his body onto his right. He has to kill it first touch, but also get it out of his feet so he can open up his body for the shot accross the keeper. For the shot, a sidefoot pass isn't going to be enough, but in order to avoid blazing it over he kind of puts his foot through it but with a check on the follow through. He beats Freidel comfortably and puts it within 9 inches of the far post.

I thought it was a fantastic finish and the work of an artist. As I've said many times, (and it must be one of my less controversial statements), of the type of striker he is, Torres must surely be the best in the World.

Imagine if the chance had fallen to any of our other strikers or our right midfielder. None of babel, N'Gog or Kuyt would have controlled it, and on the offchance that they did none of them would have even attempted the same type of shot Torres scored with. All three would have gone for the blaster, with a 50/50 chance of hitting the target, and a 20/80 chance of it going in.

None of which takes away from the fact that it was an extremely fortunate goal (or set of cirumstances leading to it) nonetheless, in the dying minutes of added time in a match where we played shite. Which was my point in saying that I'll take it again in the Spurs match, if such an event arises.

It was lucky that the ball fell to Torres, It required a lot of skill to score the goal.

I fecking hope it goes ahead if you have.I guess you are just gonna have to take a chance if you are brave enough.
I dont think the ground is ever an issue cause of undersoil heating...but Im sure you know,a few carling cup games and a League game were off this week due to snow and fans not being able to make it.
