Liverpool Football Club - Games

That was a difficult one, we needed a win but considering we were 1-0, at least a draw keeps some sort of chance going.

Difficult to see City losing now but you never know....

All game they had 11 men behind tge ball playing anti-football, time wasting.. I've come to expect it from every team we play these days, it's so frustrating to watch.

We need City to lose now instead of just praying for a draw. I can't see them dropping any points to be fair.

Apparently Spurs are the only team in the division that neither us or City have beaten this season which just backs up your point about how defensive (and cynical) they are.

If City win then we hve the flexibility to focus on 2 games instead of 5. Let's rest the lads and focus on winning those 2 finals and it'll still be a superb season.

Conte is an idiot, they need to get to top 4 more importantly than we need to win the league, especially considering Spurs are all about money rather than glory. I hope he is proud of the fact that neither City nor us were able to beat them while they play Europa next year. He needed a win more than we did and with a draw both teams lost points.

Realistically though, he had no other way to get anything out of the game. They might have needed the win more but had they played a more attacking tactic they would have lost for sure. Conte knew this and he played defensively instead and could have won had we not scored that deflected goal. Playing the way they did was their only chance of getting anything out of this game.

Yeah as you say Reg if City turn Newcastle over today I can see Jürgen ringing the changes for the Villa game Tuesday.
The CL is arguably the biggest prize of them all, if you can win that and back it up with both domestic cups it would still be a phenomenal season.

City currently 3-0 up, 71 mins gone. Looks like that's that.

Only glimmer of hope is Diaz, Walker and stones are out for the season, problem is now with their goal difference they need to drop points in two matches unless we score a lot more goals.

Let's just pray what happened to us in 13/14 happens to them, highly doubt it though.

Personally I'm gutted that the door has been closed on the league for us as its those titles I want more than anything. They went out there yesterday to send out a message and they did, doubt they are going to drop points in 2 games. If they land Haaland in the summer then that's next years title in the bag as well

I see the logic of using Konate’s pace against a pacey counterattacking team but I wonder if Matip’s ability to bring the ball forward and draw teams out would have been more useful on Saturday. Thought we were great in the press and stopping Tottenham getting out but a bit lethargic with our play in the final third. A lot of tired looking passes and crosses and very little overlap on the outside. A few players, especially the fullbacks, have looked like they are running on empty lately. Only reason Robbo came off is because he looked like he had nothing left to give. Bit surprised we haven’t seen more of Kostas lately to give Robbo a break. I reckon Klopp might roll the dice on Tuesday and make significant changes to give some players a chance to regain some freshness ahead of the cup final on Saturday.

After a brilliant midweek that was a shitty weekend. We really didn’t make the best of all the possession we had in the first half against Spurs. Short of a miracle it was inevitable that we would drop points at some stage. We now have to hope that Shiteeee will do the same !! Stevie G could have a big say in this battle for the title !!
