Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby Ghost of Shankly » Sat Sep 15, 2018 9:18 pm

I thought today and all our games so far, our defence looks solid as a rock, Gomez has really stepped up to the plate. Our front three are not firing properly yet, and our Midfield also are taking time to hit top form.

We played much better than versus Leicester, it's just that we squandered good chances a plenty.

Expect rotation for Tuesday and I hope Fabinho plays a role.

You predicted doom and gloom against the top 4 because of the midfield but today they were good and the reason it wasn’t 6/7 was the front three

Is there any need to call me a sad sack of sh[it]e?

It’s depressing - everything about the club is so positive , come on here and then there is you - no wonder this place is a ghost town

Again, was there any need to call me a sack of sh[it]e?

We are that desperate to win the league I think we've all lost all kind of perspective how to achieve it.

I recall one of our brilliant teams being 13th after a 3-1 boxing day defeat to Man City at Anfield but there was no panic, we then went on a hell ish run to win the title again.

After so many false dawns I understand how hard it is to believe now, and when we do lose or drop points it will feel like our worlds caved in.

My advice is go game to game, enjoy and be positive after victory and  don't chop your head off when we do lose (we won't lose many).

Klopp said today was our best performance of the season for 85 mins so embrace the moment ahead of another terrific match against PSG, good times.

Stop the title talk. It's September FFS....instead focus on the here and now. And accept that we're not firing on all cylinders, yet we're still winning.

We need to step it up though, because we've got Chelsea and City coming up and we can't afford to put in 5/10 performances

Well done Yakka - the happy pill worked then  :nod  Just for the record mate I'm probably as old or older than you having started supporting Liverpool in 1962. Just maybe a certain Scottish bloke had something to do with that.Yes the frustration and false dawns are somewhat legendary but I just have a bit of a feeling about this team. Who knows with a bit of luck they might just go and win the damn thing !!

reading the posts in here you would of thought we lost the game lol for the most part we were excellent, the midfield 3 completely dominated the game constantly forcing the Spurs midfield into errors and reacting quickly set up counter attacks, the defence was imperious and barely gave them a sniff all game. It was in attack where we were disappointing with Salah and Mane both guilty of being greedy and over elaborate in front of goal but im not worried because we are improving with each game and more importantly we are winning! onwards and upwards, some poor team is going to take a hammering of us soon.

A good win, but it should have been at least 1-4, the players we wasteful especially Salah!. Keeper and defense are good better tests to come. I thought the midfield is not balanced at all Keita is never SG as some people say, he is slow, sloppy and not accurate, and can't score. I prefer Shaqiri and Sturridge to in start line up, or even Lallana.

Good luck against PSG, it will be a tough game.

I was lucky enough to get a ticket for this at the list minute. No doubt we deserved the win and our poor play in the final third meant the scoreline flattered Spurs. The back 5 were solid, Gini had another excellent game (such an intelligent player), Keita didn’t look out of place at this level but he was a little reserved and safe, Mane caused them all sorts of problems and they were worried about him all game, Firmino was excellent and the pick of the front 3. But it was Mr James Milner who was the best player on the pitch from both sides. He dominated the midfield in all areas and has started the season in superb form.
