I'm more worried about Roma than the other semi finalists just because of the way they play and the fact Salah used to play for them and left on good terms, I see him having a quite game. We have to keep it tight and this will be a good test on how we have evolved as the season went on against these defensive teams. I would have preferred us not to be favorites but we have also improved at that as the season has gone on, Klopp has improved the winning mentality throughout the team so this again will be a good test of how we play as favorites. After what they did to Barcelona, Roma will not surprise us so we will probably keep it tight as well.

I expect a tight 1-0 win, anything extra will be a bonus.

:D

Mate just saying a lead of 2-0 for me should see us through.

What I'm trying to say is the damage will be done similar vs City.

We will definitely score at Roma so a clean sheet and couple of goals will see us through imo.

There's only Dzeko in that list that can score goals, and he's 31. The rest can't score to save their lives. So  Defensively, we don't have much to fear.

I think Roma should be more concerned about our attack, than vice versa. As long as we don't make any silly mistakes, we should be OK. Getting past their defence will be key tonight, as it is likely to be tight.

In the most recent encounter with Roma, during the 2001-02 Champions League second group stages, a Jari Litmanen penalty and a glancing header from Emile Heskey helped the Reds secure a 2-0 victory at Anfield.

Here we go boys and girls.. Matchday, the big semi-final showdown. Can we hold our nerve and progress to the final!?

Let's come out blazing and blow these Roma boys away :D

Kop singing.. "Go back to Italy, Go back to Italy, Go back to Italy, Go back to Italy"

:p

This will be a very different game to Porto and Man City. Stylistically they are different and won’t be gifting us space to counter. They’re actually a very experienced team with a couple of wily old midfield players. On top of that they have a game winning goalkeeper and a high quality striker. Always thought Dzeko was an excellent player are far more than just a number 9. I think he’ll try to get at Lovren tonight.

Roma have been pretty poor away in Europe but strong at home. They’ve yet to concede a goal at home and have put three past Chelsea and Barcelona. The atmosphere over at their place will be just as intimidating for us as it will be for them at Anfield. They're not a plastic club like Man City. So a strong result is needed tonight.

This tie could be experience and knowhow VS energy and pace.

I just hope Salah has a great game against his former club- we really need him to be on fire over the 2 legs especially on home turf.

Getting a quick start and dominating possession will be key. As already mentioned we should be able to run the legs off this Roma side.

Yeah I think our best shot is to run the legs off them but in order for that to happen they will have to come out and play which I doubt they will. After the Barca result they will be very confident that they can overturn a few goal deficit at home so will just look to sit deep and pump it long.

I can't see this being like Porto or Man City where we went through with a comfortable score line. I think whoever goes through will do so by a goal or two over the 2 legs.

Away games in the Champions League this season, we have played well and scored goals, in the group phase where we won 0-7 versus Maribor, to the away legs in the knockout phase versus Porto and Man City.

Whatever the result tonight, I'm  confident we can go to the Stadio Olympico and score goals there.

Physically demanding wise, this will be nowhere near a test as the Man City tie. I just can't see it.

I'm confident   :eyebrow

Ex players usually have an off game against their former clubs. Im hoping that does not happen with Salah today.

Not long to go can't  bloody wait.

How/where are you guys going to watch it?
