Liverpool play host to Chelsea in the first leg of the Capital One Cup semi-final at Anfield on Tuesday evening.

The Reds will aim to take a step closer to Wembley by securing a positive result ahead of next week's return meeting at Stamford Bridge.

The teams last met in the League Cup in the fifth round of the tournament in November 2011, when Liverpool recorded a 2-1 victory in London en route to lifting the trophy.

Pity Sturridge and Lallana weren't fit for this one, I'd fancy us to get through to the final if we had those 2.

Well that's it for the easy games, now we're in for a really hard period (bar Bolton maybe), starting with this game. Luckily, we're starting to look like we're finding our old form back, defense finally starting to look like one, and on top of that Sturridge and Lallana are coming back very soon. It will be a tricky period but I think we'll be up for it.

Maureen appears to have the mental stranglehold on Rodgers so far and I'm concerned that it might last for a while.

Really hope Rodgers can break his duck at some point soon against them because losing the title last season against these c**ts still stings.

In fairness thats exactly what Fergeson used to do with all EPL managers, its the dark side of the game.

Better the players get out there and do the job for him.
