We are still in a great position, they have got to score 3 without conceding themselves and when Salah was on the pitch we looked like scoring every time we went forward. Yes it's disappointing to give them any sort of hope and yes it's disappointing to let them back into a tie that they were out of but I'm sure Roma would rather be in our position than theirs.

Amazing amazing performance we could've easily got 10 goals. The two goal conceded has taken the shine off a little but i think we will see it through in the 2nd leg.

Wijnaldum was immense as soon as he came on. Maybe in replacing Ox was a blessing in disguise.

A bit more work to be done lads and were there.

If we let them have a sniff early in 2nd leg, then it will be a long night. No team have ever came back from 0-5 down to win but they will be targeting the soft core of Lovren for sure

Relax fella. Did you see the state of their defence?  We're going to get some goals in Rome.  :nod

Hope our fans are careful though. Will be a hostile place out there.  :(

And we should’ve had 7 or 8. Mane and Lovren both missing sitters.

Gini missed an absolute sitter right after Dzeko scored as well, that would have made it 6-1 and it would have taken the wind right out of their sails.
We could have had 10 tonight that's no exaggeration, I'm confident we'll get at least one over there.

Agreed.
3 goal lead? Are Roma good enough to retrieve a three goal lead twice???

Shame we squandered so many chances also.

We will score at their place. I guarantee it.

Salah absolutely ripped apart his old side. It was a scintillating performance the lad is playing at a world class level.

Long may it continue.

Not gonna lie, I am feeling deflated, but I probably would have taken 5-2 before the match. We need to do what we did v City and ride out the storm in Rome by keeping things tight at the back and nicking a goal or two. The longer we can stop them from scoring, the more they will throw forward, leaving gaps at the back...

Stay positive...those two goals have at least made the second leg more interesting! Enjoy the ride  :grinning:

To anyone who's feeling a little disapointed tonight...

Just remember that our front 3 use to be Mario Balotelli, Lazar Markovic and Rickie Lambert  :D

Absolutely unbelievable game  :bowdown really top drawer stuff for the most of it that would have any team scared.

5.0 up and we had 2 feet in the final but then Lovren reminds everyone why he needs to be replaced. Milner was unlucky for the pen also. 5.2 is a different scenario and they just overturned a similar scoreline against Barcelona. They haven't conceded a single goal at home either so we still have plenty of work to do in Rome.

Wijnaldum was excellent when he came on but harsh circumstances. Ox's season is over I reckon.

Mane stank the place out. For me he can pack his bags this summer. Not consistent at all.
Milner played like a warrior throughout the game. Firmino was great, Salah was class. We took Salah off against wba and we conceded2... We take him off tonight at 5 nil up and we conceded 2? Lesson to be learnt there.
