Liverpool v's Everton 4th December 8.15pm KO

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby Reg » Wed Dec 04, 2019 8:24 am

Big test for the Reds with City beating Burnley last night and under pressure with injuries and suspensions.

Adrian replaces mad as a hatter Alisson, Joel Matip remains unavailable as is Fabinho. Three core players, goalie, centre back and DF who together represent a credible weakening of the team.

The Blue ***** remain in dire straits 2 points off relegation with only bottom place Watford having scored fewer goals this season. The manager's under pressure and could be out if the Blues lose tonight. Anything for a laugh.

The reds need the points to maintain the title challenge, the blues to avoid relegation, LFC absentees v's under performing blues.... Bound to be the usual bad tempered poor game, just hope we get the 3 points and avoid further injuries.

I know Everton are in a dire place at the moment and my heart goes out to them...       NOT!  :rasp

Show them no mercy, rack up a cricket score, get their manager sacked... whatever the outcome please just win this game. You can be assured of one thing, if the league position and club status was the other way around they'd let us know about it. Big game, big night at Anfield... lets get the big score to cement us 11 points clear at the summit!

Everton are actually 7 points off fifth place and any manager worth his salt will be telling them that. This is their raison d'être winning nothing but more importantly making sure we don’t !! Let’s face it some of their fans would prefer relegation to Liverpool winning the league. City’s result last night makes an already difficult task considerably harder. We need to be on it from the get go and our front three need to be a lot more impressive than they have been recently.

Form goes out of the window in derby games, look at last year, before the match Evertonians were all saying that we were going to put 5 or 6 past them but on the night they played well, Gomes probably had his best game in a blue shirt and we needed a freak late goal to beat them.
We'll need to bring our A game tonight, this is their cup final, they would love nothing more than to throw a spanner in our title aspirations.

FIVE changes for a derby.. guess we have to trust Klopp on this ..we have firepower on the bench if needed..

Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi come into attack alongside Sadio Mane, with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino on the bench.

Elsewhere, James Milner and Adam Lallana join Georginio Wijnaldum in midfield and Adrian replaces the suspended Alisson Becker in goal.

Liverpool: Adrian, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Milner, Lallana, Shaqiri, Mane, Origi.

Subs: Kelleher, Keita, Firmino, Salah, Gomez, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Wow strange line up but the front 3 haven't been at their best lately, maybe coming on as subs may change that. Hope he is right about Lallana.

Wtf Klopp, I know that we need to rest players at some point but at the derby? Very strange. Not the first time he's doing it either. Hope it works.

Poor defending by Lallana. Adrian should have done better. :no

Our midfield is looking very lightweight here.
