Liverpool Football Club - Games

FT 4-1 in total control, and not a bad day for the lowly No.7 ranked player in the world either. Jota's goal was pure world class

Great result.

But let's be serious...wtf is Rafa doing there?

He's inherited a club with a bunch of awful signings from Carlo (who ran off to Real) and no money to spend. And the fans are turning on him, too.

You're better than that lot Rafa. Much better.

Phenomenal team spirit. Brilliant overall performance against Agent Rafa’s utterly awful Everton. We seem to be scoring for fun. Salah is just very very special. We just need to keep going and really make December count prior to ANC which starts in early January.
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years (10 years
are in brackets)
LFC £255m (£467m)
Everton £38m (£287m)
Arsenal £645m6 (£925m)
Spurs £510m (£541m)
Chelsea £788m (£1007m)
Man City £307m (£1012m)
Man United £702m (£1249m)

My empathy goes out to him, he either makes bad decisions or he is extremely unlucky.

He came to us and after a good beginning, fell foul of the new owners after alerting the fans of what they were doing to the club
(fleecing), his actions brought about the downfall of those owners but before they left they fired him when the fans wanted him to stay. He ends up going to a poisoned Chelsea right after Maureen left and the fans turned on him from day one calling him a “ fat Spanish waiter”, still bitter about the master classes he delivered to Maureen whenever Chelsea and Liverpool played, in summery the Chelsea supporters never gave him a chance even though he got them a trophy and reports also suggested that Maureen continued to to communicate with Chelsea players, some of whom downed tools when Rafa came .

He then goes to a poisoned Real Madrid, again after Maureen left, again similar issues where the players never really played for him and the fans turned on him. Goes to  Napoli, Italian fans don’t like his pragmatic approach and the fact he favored his Spanish players and turned on him, even though he improved them. Now he goes to crumbling Everton after a few years of mismanagement and poor recruitment and the fans will turn on him, more than anything because he was a former Liverpool manager, despite the fact he loves the city and his family still live there.

I can’t help feeling he has deserved more as a manager than what he got. I will always be grateful for his loyalty to the fans and City as without him we would not be where we are. A man of honor and integrity at a time where those things are much less common than they should be.

Rafa has been unlucky to lose both his best CF and CB for an extended period as well. He just hasn't got the depth in his squad to be able to cope with losing key players like that, the likes of Rondon and Tosun are a massive step down from Calvert-Lewin. Rafa's carrying the can for the poor decisions of the managers and sporting directors who have gone before him.
As for our performance it was great, yes they got back into it momentarily but that happens in football, the main thing is that we won and won comfortably. Onwards to Wolves.

All credit to the lads for a focused performance. Stand outs: Matip, Hendo, Fab and Mo. What a fantastic buy Jota was, he's a perfect foil for Mo and Mane, defenses can't afford to leave him unmarked for a moment. Thiago played the angry man in the centre letting the Blues know they wouldn't be bullied. When Jota was fouled by the Brazilian Allan, Jota really let fly in Portuguese questioning both Allan's parentage and his mothers employment... fortunately the refs Portuguese wasn't at the same level. The ref had a solid game booking 2 for diving and ignoring those Bitters who stayed after the first 20 minutes baying for fouls with every tackle, how sad they base their game plan on begging. Credit again to our subs who couldn't wait to get on the field. 43 goals scored in 14 games, if we can get 2 against Wolves this saturday that would be an average of 3 a game (thanks United).

We'll lose Mane and Mo in January but we're building up so much confidence that I'm sure the remaining players will cover their absense.

Onwards and upwards, well done Reds.

Rafa has become a nomad. A kind of Obi-Wan Kenobi who takes his wisdom to clubs that have special needs. He doesn't expect to stay for long, he's not a one club career manager. Rafa's reward is money. He's set up his family, kids and future grandchildren for life. He looked genuinely hurt last night.

Everton's problem is the hundreds of millions of wasted money spent on useless players and now the money pot is empty. Call for Rafa. They could have Steve Bruce if they think he's better but... it's over.

You've hit the nail on the head.

Carlo spent a fortune and they are worse for it. No wonder he jumped ship after 12 months  :D

And when the bitters scream "Rafa out"...who they want to replace him? I hope it's Big Dunc

Fabulous win with world-class taking goals to top an excellent performance against a good set-up physical Everton side that tried to upset our team, and it was totally back-fired against Rafa's team, very overrated.
Henderson had a real captain performance who has pushed and supported the rest of the team to a sublime result. The same is needed against Wolves.

Good Luck Lads

Great performance and result with no injuries (thank god for that) but we could have used some luck in our rivals' fixtures. Both Watford and Villa were close to making it level with Chelsea and City but unfortunately beeing close is not enough for us. It's pretty much a matter of who blinks first now during the hellish December period, but things will be very close until the end I'm sure.

To be fair to Raneiri he has done a good Jon at Watford, they looked complete no hopers when he went there but they've had big wins against the likes of Everton and United and managed to claw themselves out of the bottom 3. As you say at one point last night it looked like they were going to get a point out of Chelsea as well.

Yeah, and Villa too at 2-1 had a very good one on one chance which they didn't take. Not saying they would have necessarily got the point if they did score but who knows.

The fire and determination Everton showed after they scored their goal shows that them losing the other games is down to a) the players not being fired up, b) the players not being good enough - and not Rafa's fault. As the old saying goes, a turd's a turd no matter how much you polish it.

The only mistake EFC made appointing Rafa was actually appointing him. He's the man for the job but he's unacceptable to the crowd so you suspect it's a lose-lose situation for the club. If they'd appointed Eddie Howe or Ranieri the crowd would be more willing to stomach poor performances.

The ManU v Arsenal game last night was awful, Arsenal especially. Neither side understand the high press nor are committed to working non stop to regain possession, make space, create opportunities. Sideways and backwards passing is a different way of saying 'I don't know what to do' and whilst it keeps possession, it also screams how far behind the top 3 they are. The crime is Utd have spend a billion to get to that state of mental numbness whereas Arsenal did it for less.

The ManU players probably think this morning they did enough last night to placate the new manager. They're very wrong. If the new fella is a gangenpress advocate then what we saw last night would tell him there's no one in the squad of sufficient athletic ability or ball skill to play that style. Shaw, Maguire, Wan Bissaka? The heart of ManU's team is incapable of adapting to Klopp football. The problem continues. And de Gea on 350k a week? Bang average keeper no better than Schmeichel at Leicester. He's top 7 standard. His pretending to be fouled at the corner that led to the first goal was embarrassing. I'd sell the lad asap and replace him with the West Ham keeper and save 250k a week...
